[Hack] KFC 21 Pieces of Chicken $21, 30 Nuggets $10, Regular Chips $1, 3 Nugget Go Bucket $2.50 (KFC App Required)

12260

Inspired by recent posts, I went looking into what makes these app deep links tick.
I found out.

Here are some goodies:

21 Pieces Original Recipe Chicken $21 Expired
9 Pieces Original Recipe Chicken $9.95 Expired
30 Nuggets $10 Expired
3 Nuggets Go Bucket $2.50 Expired
Ultimate Box $10 Expired
10 Original Recipe Tenders $10
Original Recipe Twister $5
1 Original Recipe Tender Go Bucket $2.50
Regular Chips $1
2 for 1 Zinger Burgers $5.95 credit to Rrocky Dear mod: still working at some stores, not only for me
Fill Up Box $4.95 credit to Rrocky

Links tested to work on both iOS and Android.
These links shouldn't expire when they pull a promotion (unless they remove it from the menu).

Troubleshooting

If the links open in your browser (not the app) and you just get a 404 Not Found error,

iOS:
Long press the link and tap 'Open in "KFC"'. If this option isn't present, see if there's an app update available in the App Store.
Or try this solution from tinysoldier

Android:
click the Red KFC icon in the url box to get redirected to the KFC app
For color os / oppo users… heres how to adjust your app settings in order to use the links to take you directly to the app.

Nerdy write-up:

The Android-only links that have been posted before were Google AdWords links that look like this

https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjIypPa24jvAhVFDCs…

that redirect to something like this

intent://www.kfc.com.au/dleng/menu/4-10000-31783?action=customizeItem&userSelectsSite=false&gclid=(removed)&gref=(removed)#Intent;scheme=https;package=com.kfcaus.ordering;S.market_referrer=gref%3D(removed);end

which is a shame because the intent:// URL scheme isn't recognised by iOS.

On iOS, KFC uses branch to manage promotional app deep links, with links distributed that look like this

https://kfcau.app.link/mkBC1Q1A4db

that on mobile, if the app is installed, will redirect to something like this

https://www.kfc.com.au/dleng/menu/4-10000-31519?action=custo…

These links also work on Android.

The easiest way to pull the menu from KFC's servers is to MITM the app. It's found at

https://nolo-api-ssa.ncrsaas.com/v1/Menus/(storenumber)/10000?includeInvisible=False

You can generate your own deep links by using the item's five digit MenuItemId from the raw menu I've dumped here.
I dumped this just now and eyeballing it there's some new menu items that I haven't seen before (originally started working on this last week) including a whole FOMO WOW menu.

    • Pretty much.

    • Next day? What is this next day.

      More like nek minit.

Taking off the meat of a burger to save $1 or the value range Hawaiian Domino's pizza, were labelled "hacks" when they were just using the system as designed.

This is an actual decent saving

  • +3

OP deserves a Nobel award for innovation.

  • First time using the KFC app, can you pre-order and choose a pick up time?

    • +2

You order and then they won't prepare it until you say you're inside (not supposed to anyway) - you can cancel your order up to that point

      • The order doesn't fully go through until you hit the 'I'm in the restaurant' button, you don't get charged until then either. I use it all the time to create the order before I leave home.

        **

Just to confirm, did an order now and the email they send says you can collect any time before 9:30pm (this stores closing time).

    • +1

If you put the order through, you can collect any time that day.

  • Has anybody tried the new red rooster fried chicken menu? Wondering how it compares to the kernel.

    Great job BTW OP

    • someone reviewed it on Youtube and they said not as good as KFC

      • Amazing, thanks mate

      • Really great texture but very bland.

      • Here's the tier list:
KFC Hot & Spicy > Red Rooster >>> KFC Original

Compared to hot and spicy, the texture is slightly better, but the flavour is a good chunk worse. Its mostly just salty.
        Overall i give it a pretty good / 10.

    • +2

I think it's way better than standard KFC Original Recipe. To me, RR's fried chicken is a Popeye's copycat. But compared to KFC's Hot and Spicy it's a dead heat imo

      • +1

Yup. Recently tried the RR fried chicken and it's better than KFC Original Recipe. Love the crispy skin. You can order the hellfire wings to get the reaper sauce on the side if you want more of a kick.

  • Thanks OG (Original Geek), can confirm all the links open just fine on to the kfc app on my Android 9.

  • Didnt work for me in Android with Chrome. The link opens in KFC app and the cart icon animates but the cart is empty. What am I doing wrong?

    • Try terminate and relaunch the app? This happened on my shitty work Android phone when testing but a relaunch fixed it.
Also see if there’s an app update.

      • There is no app update for me. Tried terminating the app and also restarted the device, still the same issue :(

        • Try tapping through to a store, add a random item to your cart, then try the link again

          • @cooni: Tried to do this, still the same. The cart icon animates but doesn't add anything to cart (Adding random items form app works fine)
            Damn

            • @Predit: I also experienced the same problem, but I found a way that could work on my Pixel 3.

              First I open the app, and click order now to go to the store selection page;
              Then I switch to this OZbargain deal in Chrome and click on the link, and choose KFC app to open the link;
I am redirected back to the app, I choose the store and the item add to cart page would show up, so I can add the item to the cart.
If more than one item are wanted, I switch back to Chrome and click on different links. Once I am redirected back to the app, click on the cart icon on the top right and then the add to cart pages would show up.

              I hope this is helpful.

I wonder if this hack still works when I finish work? $21 for 21 pieces of chicken is amazing.

  • Can confirm this works on an iPhone 7, couldn't get it working on an iPhone 12

    • I’m on a 12 Pro, iOS 14.4

      • @cooni
I just updated to iOS 14.4.1 in case that did something but alas no.

Can make the FOMO WOW work on a Samsung Galaxy A20 running Android 10 work with the KFC icon appear no problems but on an iPhone 8 running 14.4.1 with a fresh install of the KFC app, the app still tries to open all links in Safari when you press and hold the link on a web version of OzBargain. If you use the OzBargain app on iOS, press and hold does nothing. Eventually it just tries to open in Safari. So there’s something else going on but I see no “Send to KFC” option on iOS only Android.

So I have a working solution on Android but not my iPhone 8. I’d probably have to do “reset all settings” or factory reset my iPhone 8 to maybe get it going?

Thanks though for the work you did, using Android, I enjoyed six of the nine pieces for $9.95 and the rest in the fridge. Cheers!

Edit: just been reading that most of the good stuff has been killed off so this post probably not relevant sorry should have read the latest posts first sorry.

    • Chrome or safari

      • Also works for me on 12 Pro with Safari, latest iOS update.

  • +1

Hey Op, how do u find the store number to use in https://nolo-api-ssa.ncrsaas.com/v1/Menus/(storenumber)/10000?includeInvisible=False ? Thx!

    • +1

Eh you also need to pass authentication as well.
Just look at the dump I posted or MITM the app.

      • Gotcha! Thought it was an open API.

  • +2

    For Andriod.

21 Pieces Original Recipe Chicken $21
    tinyurl.com/KFC2121

9 Pieces Original Recipe Chicken $9.95
    tinyurl.com/KFC949

Parse these links through a shortener.
    intent://www.kfc.com.au/dleng/menu/4-10000-31516?action=customizeItem&userSelectsSite=false&gclid=(removed)&gref=(removed)#Intent;scheme=https;package=com.kfcaus.ordering;S.market_referrer=gref%3D(removed);end

And then replace your 5 digit code with what you like from the dump.

    btw - awesome work @cooni

    MVP!

Out of all the given links in the post

The only one that is working on iOS is

    https://kfcau.app.link/mkBC1Q1A4db

    • No, they all work. What happens when you try the other links?

      • Just like everyone else error 404, no option to ‘open in kfc’

No app updates, iOS itself is also fully updated

The branch link seems to be working perfectly though

        • Same for me

    • +1

same here. so how do we get links in this https://kfcau.app.link/xxxxxxxxxxxxx format for all the other items?

      • No, you can’t get these links

    • Same only one that works on ios

  • +16

Welp, looks like the secret is out. This is how I first shared the $10 for 10 Tenders deal.

OP: There's a much easier way of accessing the FOMO WOW menu. You don't need to have separate links for each menu item, you can access it directly using https://www.kfc.com.au/dleng/menu/4-10000-20069?action=subme…

    • You the real MVP!

    • Oh nice. But this link doesn't seem to open the FOMO WOW menu on iOS for me (launches the app, but doesn't go through to it)

      • It's been a few months since I looked at the KFC app so my memory may be a bit hazy, but there's a few ways of accessing FOMO WOW that I know of:

        • that app link. I made that by decompiling the Android app and by looking at something like DeepLinkActivity - not sure whether you can do the same with the iOS app.
        • MITMing the app and either changing the "Name" property of "FOMO WOW" to something else, or changing "FOMO WOW" in the initial JSON settings response to something else (I think it's called "developer menu name" or something similar)
        • recompiling the app while adjusting the getter of "developer menu name" to return something different to "FOMO WOW".
        • using something like Xposed or MobileSubstrate (I think it's called Cydia Substrate now) to do that same modification

On iOS, the last option is probably your best bet.

    • Link doesn’t work :(

      • Seems like it doesn't work on iOS, unfortunately. I've only looked at the Android app.

    • Worked for Android.

  • Anyone get it work on iOS? No update on KFC app :(

    • Yeah it works :/

  • Are the nuggets any good?

    • Yeah they're good, especially if you get a fresh batch. Superior to Macca's IMO.

Ordered 21 for $21. Thanks OP.

I’m on a first name basis with my local store manager. He was surprised and commented to his staff it’s a really good deal.

Only link I got working was this 10 tenders for $10 which is a supplied link. iOS 14.4 iPhone 8.

All links open in Safari except this one, I was logged into the kfc app and had a store chosen:

    https://kfcau.app.link/mkBC1Q1A4db

I might find an old android phone and see if that is easier.

Unless I’m missing something. But latest app, latest iOS.

Thanks for any help or if this has been solved I might have to go back and read the solution.

    Thanks.

  • Darn, I've already updated my IOS to latest for my iPhone XR as well as downloaded the latest KFC app update, option for Open In KFC does not show up for me for these links

  • This is incredible, the Colonel's gates have been blown wide open! I wonder how long this will last.

    • +6

Not the only gates that will be blown wide open if you manage to eat all 21 pieces of chicken in 1 sitting.

  • Is there a branch link for the 21 pieces?

    • This. But also the other items. But mainly this for us poor iOS folk.

  • damn thats a lot of chicken

worked for me 21 for $21

  • lol kfc i'm coming now hope it can work tmr though

  • How do I go about doing this for NZ KFC 😋

  • Awesome… it works

But now I can't login to the app on my new phone…. it keeps rejecting the email verification code it sends me….

  • They are assigned driver via DoorDash. Terrible as I ordered 30 min ago The driver was assigned straight away but now the driver is still staying at home(in a residential address without moving). I’ll much prefer menulog as they have more drivers.

    • Don’t understand why I get down vote, I’m currently working on Uber eats and menulog, I know how the system works, as a delivery driver I should drive to the restaurant as soon as I got an order invitation not just staying at home or sitting in the car. Luckily I got my order 10 min after my previous post so I can enjoy the food before leaving home for delivery tonight.

  • Anyone able to make a link on iOS for the 9 pieces deal?

  • i bought enough food for me to start hibernating

edit: if its not working on your android, go to settings and clear "defaults" for browser so it prompts you to pick an app to open links. Then navigate to the ozb deal page and click open via KFC app. Boom profit

  • Works on my Samsung A20 no problem. iOS looks like will take some work going through the dump and making a link. Can’t even get the FOMIO WOW link to open on iOS 14.4 iPhone 8 - everything just goes to Safari and gives the same 404 error. Even deleted the app on iOS abs reinstalled with same result. Could be me but I think you need a certain type of link.

The 21 pieces for 21 is tempting but I might just get the 9 for $9.95 on my Android phone.

Sometimes is useful to have a cheap Android phone as a backup ;-)

  • +1

Conservative. 2 for 1 zinger a regular chips.

Local was quiet, then I saw on the screens a couple of the 21 piece orders.

    • a couple of the 21 piece orders.

      Ozbargainer spotted

      • +1

I was sitting there thinking "shit is about to get real!" 🤣

  • WINNING! All links work for me - Iphone 12 - V14.4

    • do you use safari or chrome?

      • Safari to go into OB - and once I click the link, kfc app automatically opens up with the deal

  • Got my 21 for 21 just now - had to wait an extra 15 minutes or so because I don't think they were expecting an order of 21 pieces at 4:30pm on a weekday.

    • On a Thursday they might. Every other weekday. Unlikely.

  • +1

On my own tonight and planned to enjoy a dirty feed, thanks! Success with the twister and 9.95 chackin pieces

  • +1

I've been holding off getting the app not anymore :)

  • +8

Today might be the day the deals end forever :(

Or they'll just start spitting in the burgers

    • +1

Yeah, I'm really worried that they'll stop the deals now :( End of an era.

  • When I clicked the link and open it in the app, nothing happened except the cart at the top right did some animation and that was it. What is supposed to happen when it opens with app?

    Edit: using Android

    Edit:
I figured it out. Only applicable store works and does not work for delivery.

Edit: got it to work! Just randomly select pick up and add the item to cart then swap to the store you want and change to delivery.

    • Same is happening to me for Android. I tried a couple stores and all that happens is the cart boxe icon shakes but nothing gets added. So I select the store, pick up, go out of the app, then click the link open via app and it should appear in cart? Nothing else I'm missing here lol

      • I figured it out. When the link works, it will go to the select store page. Try closing the app and go until select store, come back here and click on the link, it will reload the select store page and once you click pick up it will show the menu item straight away and can add to cart.

  • Nom nom yum yum heading to KFC now.
    Thx OP.
