dunno if it's any cheaper, haven't compared……but as a FYI, todays HN 'big buy' is camping gear
    http://www.harveynormanbigbuys.com.au/?utm_source=mailinglis…

    • I find that most of the items are available normally every other day in the 'More BIG BUYS' section

      • Do you know if the 3 man tent or the 2 man tent in big buy is worth getting? Going camping soon but don't know anything about gear or even what I need.

    • Was looking at the Roman Rapid Folding Table:
      http://www.harveynormanbigbuys.com.au/BuyDetailsPage.aspx?it…

Looked like a great price, until I checked delivery - $58 to WA!!!! no pickup options.
      FAIL.

    • Do these chair a lot better compare to the cheap one like

      http://www.bigw.com.au/home-garden/garden-outdoor/outdoor-fu…

      • Yes.

Hard to say from just pics (without seeing them in person), the Kathmandu one looks a bit more reinforced (look at where the tubes cross). Unless you can pick up shipping will add up, so I would go with the Kathmandu with free shipping. Because Koda is a brand, a quick Google shows that HN is offering it at a good price (without shipping!) but hard to yell the quality. The Kathmandu one is shop specific so even harder to know the real value of it.

Just as an example, I do not consider BCF to be a cheap store, but you can see what you can get for $25 and up:
          http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/camping/camp-furniture/ca…

I might be confusing you, but after looking at some other chairs, my (final) advice to you is this:
          - Buy a bit more expensive chair ~$40-$50 to be comfy and last long (I've had a few for years and they don't show any wear)
          OR
          - Buy the big-w one. It will occasionally break/rip, but you can just go get another one for $7 so who cares.

The $25 chairs don't seem like such good value to me due to their mid point price (they need to outlast 4 big-w chairs to be worth it).

Thank a lot ory_zm for all the tips and response

        • No worries, keep us updated :-)

    • $25 is not too bad for a good camping chair… not sure about this one.

  • Can anyone Vouch for the Seak Kayaks? I'm looking at getting one until i can afford a Sea Eagle fast track. But cannot find any information/reviews re: SEAK brand anywhere online.

    • Likewise, the Seak portable one for 349 is just what I need now.

    • was reading about them and did not buy in the end as people say quality is poor. I went and bought 2 wilderness systems kayaks instead, much more expensive but also very nice. 50% off though makes them a very good buys, worth getting if you just want something to have fun with.

      • Where did you read about them? I have found no reviews for the brand at all. Can you provide a link or 2?

  • Went to Anaconda (Innaloo WA) at my lunch break, they were not set up at all for the sale, no products had signs with prices on them, some products (in the sale catalogue!) were out of stock and we were told they will only receive stock in a few days (no exact date even), so we should ring to check before coming back.

    Just a heads up.

    • Yeah as per usual, everything is conditional to floor stock (which they never have or the decent items already have "sold" stickers on them).

  • Really wished they would have a sale everything rather then their branded stuff. Guess I'll have to wait till they do their mid year 20% everything sale. I'll pass on this one

  • This sale looks average, and the store seems to be getting worse. Ive been shopping at anaconda since they opened in SA (probably about 6-7 years ago maybe) they used to be helpful and have plenty of stock and a decent price point. Now it seems the only good prices are 50% or more off sales and some of the "club" only deals (which i am a member) and the stores are half bloody empty! (went in last friday).

    • Totally agree, about the same in WA.

None of the camping shops here have anything sensibly priced mind you.

  • Does anyone have any opinion on their Fluid bikes? They look pretty good and 50% off is quite a lot.

    • +1

Generally the bikes prices are heavily inflated, 50% off might make it close to a reasonable price compared to a good bike shop.

bikeexchange.com.au is also good to compare the prices

  • I think alot of Anaconda stuff is over inflated and thats why they can afford to have these sales

I have seen the seak kayaks in the flesh and they just do not have the quality of other brands that have been around for much longer. all the kayak shops told me to stay away from them.

they do have some nice accessories though like dry boxes and water shoes which for 50% off is good. they are all made in china unlike the better brands made in US, Canada etc but still functional.

  • $20 shipping for a small beach tent, no thanks, especially when the item only costs $16…

    • That is an expensive shipping, I bought a beach tent from Kathmandu website on Nov 2011(during a special offer) for $20 include shipping

  • Thanks a lot! This sale is great timing for summer. Got some awesome things for the pool for next to nothing! Now bring back the 40 degree days!

    • Yes this must have been the coldest xmas-new years in history…
