Will meth be included in the package to prove the test kit working properly?

    • Ahahahaha. For $40 on a single-use test, you'd think so.

Meth contamination which is an invisible contaminant has no real odor. It is a very real issue for people in Australia who are buying or renting property and can cost thousands of dollars to remediate. Meth contamination in homes is becoming a major issue. Australian laws (EPA and local government) say that meth contamination above 0.5 micrograms in space 100cm square (0.5μg/100cm²) is not acceptable. Discovering meth contamination as early as possible makes remediation less expensive.

The DIY Meth Test Kits are a simple, easy-to-use, and affordable method to detect meth residue, saving precious time and money. To ensure your properties or cars are safe and free from meth contamination, a DIY Meth Testing Kit provides a discrete and fast result.

This is an absolute scam and has already done the rounds in NZ where they spent a few years tearing down houses just because a previous owner/tenant has smoked meth in there before coming to the conclusion it was a money making scam. If meth on a surface of a home was such a health hazard people who actually smoke it would be dropping dead instantly.

      • +3

To be fair if i was buying a house id want it to be meth free.

        • +3

I dont, then i can unpack my furniture and boxes faster i hate moving and usually still have boxes not unpacked a year later.

According to the Alcohol and Drug Foundation (ADF) Australia, Methamphetamine contamination of residential properties is considered a health risk where manufacturing has occurred. The health risks associated with methamphetamine manufacturing are highest for children who live in these environments.

        • They literally prescribe amphetamines to children for adhd.
The possible health problems related to meth manufacture are because of the other chemicals involved, not the meth itself.

Is there a single case where an amount of methamphetamine high enough to have a physiological effect has been detected as residue in a house?

Ok then, maybe I'm missing something on how this would be useful for the average dude/dudess. Say a mate were to use this product to test for meth residue in a residential place. Can you provide some guidance to where your prospective clients would swab and how much coverage a pack would get you in an apartment or house?

I presume if meth is not immediately visible on any given surface, this is where your product would be useful. Considering the alternative scenarios a) where meth is clearly visible you would do something about it or b) there's an unidentified substance mixed in with surface dust/grime, you would, perhaps, clean up the mess without much thought of examining it by analysis?

At the least, this could be of educational value to kids or big kids on a simulated crime scene hunt.

  • +4

Scabby face is a cheaper detection method.

    • Not too mention the backyard full of stolen copper and hot water services :)

Meteorite impacts are invisible contaminant has no real odor. It is a very real issue for people in Australia who are buying or renting property and can cost thousands of dollars to remediate. Meteorite impacts of homes is becoming a major issue. Australian laws (EPA and local government) could say that one meteorite above 0.5 micrograms moving at 10,000km per hour in space 100cm square (0.5μg/100cm²) is not acceptable. Discovering meteors as early as possible makes remediation less expensive.

How many houses have been shown to be contaminated requiring thousands of dollars of remediation? Probably once every 15 years like meteorite impacts.

To ensure your properties or cars are safe and free from meteorite impact, a Harry Stamper (Bruce Willis) Kit provides results.

  • Magnets! Beatch! Breaking Bad, third rewatch now

  • Is there difficulty cleaning a surface with meth on it?
I'd clean a house I was moving into.

  • Wow. I, too, could design a test that always returns a negative result and sell it for $39 with free shipping. /s

Since this product has never been available with a shipping cost, there is no discounted price and no bargain.

  • I guess they're trying to push these because there's stuff all international flights so border security haven't been buying as many as normal.

  • can this test for something that's 99.1% pure?

  • Good grief…has it come to this?
