  • Pretty good PSU but it gets really loud on full load. Fan shuts off on low load though so that's great, but on full load it's a jet turbine. My other fans are pretty quiet though so it's probably just a comparative thing.

ive never heard my - my 6800 xt makes more noise when on that's for sure

    • I've got the regular rm850 but my fan doesn't even spin up (with a 4690k and a 2080).
Every other dust filter in my case needs to be cleaned every few months, but the psu one is still as clean as the day I bought it. I assume because the fan never turns on.

Naturally will depend on the load of your system.

But it was the main reason I got this PSU, for the silence (my hard drives are the only thing that makes any real noise in my PC)

      • It was great when I had the GTX 1080. When I changed to an RTX 3080 the load was just enough to start the fan. I thought it would have a rmap up profile but instead it just jumps to 100%.

        • Im on the Strix 3080 oc with a 3900x with an rm850x and have never heard the psu fan come on, even when the gpu is getting flogged in cp2077. If anything, the noctua's af-14s on the front intake are louder under load

      • you sure the fan isn't busted? A 2080 under load should draw enough power to spin up the fan.

    • have 2x3080s mining and the fan spins but barely audible (pulling 500W from the plug)

  • :( Got the white for $10 more in the previous deal. Oh well.

The white version is slightly higher quality parts IIRC.

      • Source?

        • i don't about the higher quality parts, but there's been a "white" tax on PC parts since forever.

    • $188 for a white 850x is a very good deal. I've never seen it that cheap before.

      • I paid $210.I meant $10 more than the deal price for white in this.

        • it's still a good price. Sure you could have saved $10 if you'd waited a week, but it means no operational PC for a week. I think having a useable PC for a week is worth more than $10.

  • Isn’t the $139 NZXT C750 good enough? Seems like a waste to spend $40 for 100W more

Depends on the rest of your components.

Btw if you are horrified at the idea of "wasting" $40, I strongly recommend you to skip building a PC this year. -Unless you managed to grab a FE card at MSRP of course.

I fear it will last far beyond this year. Even car manufacturing has been bottlenecked because they need the silicon for the computers inside cars.

  • well,i think this discount will end on 0:00 am Perth WA time

nice price, can't find any better price atm, historic low is $185 at amazon.

every customer can only use once, put multi item in one transaction will save shipping cost.

    • It's a 24 hours deal,so valid until 12:00 pm today?

    • Should end at 12pm AEDT, so just over 3 more hours as of this comment.

And yeah this is an excellent deal if already buying something else at SE.
