  • That seems to be a bit exy for a desk lamp - or I am missing its key features

I've got one of these. For me, the beam angle isnt great. It either shines onto the screen, or into your eyes.

    • The Xiaomi one doesn’t have that issue at all

      • +2

Yeah Xiaomi a lot better I assume. I have one.

        • ah happy i paid more for the xiaomi…

since months ago i stop believing puchasing baseus and blitzwolf items.
long ago they are good, selling unique products good quality.
now, they just slap their brands on top of generic cheap quality (any) stuffs.
example with mini projector i found two same picture photo shape design etc on aliexpress one with their brand from blitwolf official store and one from some generic store.
100% same item just one without brand is a bit cheaper.

and then on another story, bought one blitzwolf item was dead on arrival lucky banggood refund 100%

  • These seem to be all of facebook ads atm.

Even in the ads, the light is shining on the screen.

  • Doesnt look like it would work with curved monitors

    • get a new flat monitors

    • A lot of people said the Xiaomi screenbar works with Xiaomi 34" curved monitor.

Or check out the latest Benq Halo

I have this as well as Xiaomi's. Get the Xiaomi, its much better and worth the extra cost.

  • Just curious. Do you guys not have ceiling lights?

    • Check youtube not the same.

      • i have a ceiling light that lights my desk also. My desk is very well lit without needing a lamp. I assumed that's how most lights work.

        • Just people that owned it trying to tell you not the same.

Because screenbar can reduces glare on the screen.

          • @superforever: Maybe I'm just really lucky with positioning, but I don't have any glare or reflection on my screen.

I presume the scenario you are describing is, your turn the ceiling light off and use just the lamp? That's not ideal for me because it's still dark outside of the desk.

            • @lostn: Are your walls painted a very dark matte colour? Room light reflects off every surface in your room and back onto the monitor. This is more noticeable in dark areas/scenes. The amount of glare and reflection is always more than 0, how much depends on your room setup. How much you are willing to tolerate is a personal decision.

When I watch movies/shows, I always turn off room lights if I can. I have a light behind the monitor which lets see see my desk a little bit, but if I need to do stuff on my desk while watching stuff, I need to use a focused lamp of some kind. I have one, but it's a standard E27 mount bulb and just not ideal (hence me looking into monitor mounted light bars).

              • @FiveDarrah: my walls are a light creme colour. It's not reflective. I think positioning matters also. My screens are matte, not glossy.

Even dark scenes I don't get reflection or glare.

Turning off the lights makes dark scenes look crushed because of LCD backlighting (I don't have OLED) being accentuated. It looks bad in the dark.

A good anti glare layer on your monitor takes care of the problem. I have 3 monitors, all facing different angles. The first and 3rd monitors are at 90 degrees to each other and the middle one is 45 degrees. None of them have any glare or reflection. On my ceiling is a 36W fluoro tube in the center of the ceiling, about directly above my head.. A window is behind one of them, and I don't get glare from the window during the day on any of the monitors either. I just assumed everyone had it fine. I did not know my setup was lucky.
