The speaker gives a loud sound for the most part, the bass is good, treble is also good and vocals are the only bit it can lack in on certain songs. The volume control is tactile and feels great to control, although I’ll often start the speaker with it changing to a lower volume due to it being easy to change when not in use by accident.
This is a great speaker for the price with superb sound quality!!!

  These produce an annoying whine. I returned mine.

  There are comments about this in reviews so doesn't appear to be a faulty unit.

  I was really hoping this would be a descent value speaker. Bought and returned. Its size to sound ratio (if that's even a thing) is poor. 40W , I doubt it. I have had an original UE Boom that is 5 years old or so and not only is the UE lighter / smaller but produces better sound and overall volume IMO than this. I have decided to return this and got a JBL flip 5 secondhand for under $80.
