How about letting us try the coffee first, then we can decide if we like it… :S

That's not to say you can't unlike us afterwards, if you truly feel that way. However, we're sure you won't be dissappointed :)

hope they spit in your coffee…

they'd have to spit a long way, I wouldn't get one from them…

100 free coffees probably costs them around $25…

Although I will be probably be negged or as markis suggests spat on into oblivion, I have to agree with jv.

As a society we have become all too willing to whore ourselves with likes and friend request acceptances and all sorts of trivial, meaningless and facile social media garbage.

The pleasure of a nice cup of coffee or tea for those who prefer, shared with true friends over memorable conversations, is a wonderful thing, to be enjoyed, treasured and savoured.

I will not pretend to like you for a free cuppa. Especially a small one. Maybe a Hennessy XO. After all, every man has his price, but only to wash down the dirty feeling for giving out a fake like.

Call me old fashioned if you like. I will thank you.

There is nothing especially wrong with a small beverage, but if CafeXS (an ironic name it would seem) is looking to build a returning and loyal clientele, skimping on the beverage size is counterproductive. It comes across as stingy and mean.

Yes, I do run a business so I know about cost and I know what it costs to acquire a new customer. But I also know the value of acquiring the right sort of customer and avoiding the wrong sort.

This is a bargain site. You will get some takers, but I bargain that will all they will be, takers, not return customers.

    Far be it for me to write your copy for you, but if I was your business, this is how I would have approached your post;

"Small, medium or large? Whatever your preferred coffee or tea size, we would like you to have one on the house, or more properly, Cafe XS at Chermside. Come visit our Facebook page to see the magic word, which you can communicate to your barista through whispering, morse code or simply slipping them a printed out page.

But please, do not "Like us". Save that for after you have tried us and if you are not completely happy, we promise to give you all your money back on this free coffee or tea.

Because we like to feed our children, we are limiting this offer to the first 100 caffeine junkies to storm our premises.

In all seriousness though, we "like" all our customers (well, most of them anyway) and we try to show it through the service we offer and the quality of all our delicious food. In this spirit, we hope you take advantage of this free offer, not because it is free, but to see how proud we are to be of service to lovers of great coffee and tea."

      Well said…

It's ridiculous that this store wants you to like them before you've even tasted their coffee…

      • +5

They didn't say you can't try their coffee first.

Buy a coffee, if it's good "Like" them on Facebook and get another free one. Problem solved.

    • I agree with Daabido. You may get away with something like this promotion out in front of centrelink but a site like this, no way! Eversince I swipped that McD hole puncher I have not had to pay for a coffee. I see no bargain in what you are giving….but unlike Daabido I am willing to sell myself short so I will like you but I want the coffee shipped to me!

  • Thanks for the coffee rep. taste really good. recommend to all. cheers.
