Garmin Forerunner 245 Music

Bummed that I missed out on all the cheap deals at mid $200s over the last few months?
If anyone knows a cheaper alternative or know when they would be back on sale again for that cheap? Currently selling for $579 at rebel sports which is ridiculous considering they were once $250! I think that is the current cheapest.

Help a brother out thanks!

  • Currently on Amazon for $378. Bike bug had them a few weeks ago for ~$340

    • Down to $379 on both Garmin website and rebel

  • +1

Setup a Amazon alert on camelcamelcamel, I picked up a Venu for $320 last week from the UK

    • EDIT: That was the mobile link - desktop link

    • Do you own this watch? I've been looking a bit at the Amazfit range, and for the price they seem like a decent piece of kit. Currently in the Garmin ecosystem, but more than happy to change if the price is right.

      • +1

Yep, but now using Apple Watch as I received it as a gift.

I've found the Amazfit to be great value (I've used the Stratos, my wife has the GTR and our kids have Bips).

        Some points on the Stratos:

        • UI is a bit clunky but does the job
        • Build quality is great
        • Waterproof
        • VO2max
        • Always on transflective LCD - not the greatest res and is quite poor in low light but looks great in full light
        • Battery life is great - a good few days out of it with a mix of GPS and no GPS
        • Watch vibrates with notifications from phone but no further interaction apart from just reading
        • No speaker or mic
        • Locks on to GPS pretty quickly and tracks accurately. Plenty of workout options
        • After a workout, you sync it with the app which can then automatically push data to Apple Health and Strava.
        • Tracks sleep, steps, HR
        • Shows how much longer you can exercise for and shows recovery time
        • Has onboard storage for music but requires manual transfer of mp3s via the usb charging cradle. I transferred a Spotify playlist into Deezer then used Deemix to download the mp3s. I copied the songs to the watch using Android File Transfer on Mac.
        • Bluetooth headphones
  • Definitely not the cheapest it's been, but 245 Music currently $379 at Rebel, with 15% cashback via Cashrewards = $322.15

    • 3.5% cash back. was it 15%? missed it
