    We are trying to get a good deal on them. It just comes down to when the manufacturer can give us a good bulk price. We generally pass on the savings as a promo price. But unfortunately they are as low as we can go at the moment.

  How? I don't know the names of things but I figure this only helps create a pocket hole joint.

  Pocket hole joints tend to split. Not so great. Would be interested in similar tools for better joints if any?

    Pocket hole joins are actually really strong. But not for all wood type (like particle board), and need to be driven in the correct direction. Lots of cabinetry uses pocket hole joints for construction. I bought mine from Amazon for $65, so at $40 it's a steal. Would prefer to go direct through timbecon rather than mydeal though.
    I don't know how you'd use them for mitre joints though…

    For "better joints" that do the same thing you'd have to be making dados and rabbets, and not sure there's much of a strength upgrade, but they look better if you can't hide the pocket holes.
