Umidigi make decent phones - but don't expect any updates beyond the first 3-6 months, and the camera will be average at best (previous happy Umidigi owner).

    • Yep it's always the sacrifice you make with these phones. Hence the lower price.

      • Hence I would never recommend a Umidigi to anyone who values camera quality. Pay $100 more and get a Redmi Note 10/ Pro and a rugged case.

          Bwaaaaaahahahahahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣

      • I had Motorola and didn't had update for 3 years… Replaced with umidigi and it worked best choice for the price. It gives stock Android unlike Redmi/Xiaomi..and I can trust stock Android more then MIUI.

    • The 200 dollar phone market is so crowded.

Might as well get an oppo or Nokia with Snapdragon .

Only good thing about this phone is band's and NFC.

  • Shame if the camera isn't good. The rest of the specs are pretty good and I'd like an ips68 phone for skiing and snorkelling with a big battery.

I have umidigi and Sony lense works best… No issues with camera.

Best part is they give stock Android unlike Redmi/Xiaomi.. !

      • What's so good without updates?

The camera is a 48MP sony sensor, honestly its totally fine. However I would point out the lack of wireless charging if this matters to you and it is definitely a big and heavy phone.
Had mine for about a month now and very impressed for the bang for buck, came from an old galaxy s8 and now can't see the point in paying Samsung prices when this was about $250 for me on Ali.

Rather upgrade to 5g phone for future proofing for another 150 $ and get one plus Nord n10 5g

  • Fyi currently have the bison and happy but they are clearing them for the new model which was released yesterday

    • I think if you're going to buy an Umidigi, it is best to buy a model that has been out for a while as it gives them a chance to fix the inevitable bugs.
( I bought a pre release F2 which had some interesting problems.)

dont buy for the waterproof function, its a con, kayaked once and it now dead, the charging port is exposed and the contacts oxidies and turned green, the contacts corroded and now doesnt charge. so its a dead phone. 1 months old, been trying to get warranty for the last 3 months and they just dont reply to messages. first phone was F2, but that has speaker/mic problems and no updates for a year. phone is a nice concept but obviously not tested in real life condition. their water test was probably in a glass of water. Its a heavy phone and you will feel it as soon as you hold it. after this buy unfortunally looks like im back to xiaomi. only good thing is clean android 10, oh nfc not for wireless charging. only good as a tradie phone as its rugged

    • I had an F2 problem with the speaker distorting, but that has fixed itself via an upgrade I think.
Do you still have a problem with the mike not working on your F2?

  • For rugged phone, buy Samsung one:
    https://www.samsung.com/au/smartphones/others/galaxy-xcover-…

It more expensive, but you got removable battery, longer security update from Samsung (4 years old I think), and local warranty.
Also better CPU and built, right?

  • Can anyone recommend something similar but smaller. Preferably less than 5 inches???
