Savage Gear Manic Predator 6ft 6-8kg Baitcaster Combo $79 (RRP $249) + $7.99 Shipping @ BCF

Crazy good price for a decent baitcaster combo! BCF also have free C+C, but it seems like these combos are low in stock in stores, so I’d just factor in the cost of shipping too.

This Manic Predator Baitcaster Combo from Savage is absolutely packed with everything you need to get started with a baitcaster rod. It includes a 2pc high-quality graphite baitcaster rod and reel, spooled with backing and HD4 braid line and a lure kit of 40 assorted soft plastic lures. An incredible value combo.

5 Stainless Steel ball bearing
6.4:1 gear ratio
Machined aluminium spool provides strength without adding excess weight
Spooled with backing and HD4 braid line
2pc Graphite rod for light weight and sensitivity
Rubberised cork butt section
Lure kit with 40 pieces of assorted soft plastic lures

Also available in a 5’6 baitcaster combo for the same price:

Thanks OP. Ordered 3 with free shipping 😉

Grabbed two with free shipping - great find OP! Can get back into fishing now.

Would this work for rock fishing or should I stick with a fly rod

You will want a spinning reel or alvey reel with a surf rod for the rocks.

Bait casters are good for accuracy from a boat or yak not really distance or rock fishing. Though if it’s just estuary rocks than this will be good for lures and some baits

Looks like the spin combo is on the same sale as well:

Not sure if they are any good?

I bought 1 of these spin combos when they were on sale for $125 last year. They are pretty good and I wouldn't hesitate replacing one. I just bought these baitcasters so the kids can learn on them as well.

pretty bad reviews on all of these kits, but may be skewed. Can anyone here vouch for this brand?

I imagine for 250 rrp they're probably not worth it, which factors into the reviews. I'd imagine for less than 80 bucks all-told reviews might be a bit more favourable. I guess use your best judgement.
