Driving from M2 to M4

Planning to head to the blue mountains but the tolls for M2 and M7 add up… Is it worth using the M2 and skipping the M7 to halve the toll cost? Or just skip tolls altogether?

Will be driving around 9am on a Sunday if that makes any difference.

Any driving route advice appreciated

Google maps is my recommendation. they are pretty accurate, just put with and without tolls and see the difference in the morning

Probably need tell us where you are starting from.

    Is it worth

Depends on how you value your time against how you value not being sold out by mum and her rich friends.

For a Sunday drive I'd skip.

Perhaps even consider Bells line of road if you're going all the way up - some great views and plenty of opportunities to stop and smell some fresh air.

Not sure if Bells is open

      • Yeah, maybe Windsor / Richmond is a problem right now?

Yeah Bells line is stuffed at the moment!

        • Given the significant landslip, I expect it'll be closed for some time.

The M4 is bigger than the M2, but they have the same engine now. But the M4 just got replaced with a new model, so I'd choose that.

      What?

    • The only one that matters is the M2.

  • Come of the M@ at the Seven Hills exit. There is also a sign there saying ' last exit before M7' or something similar. Follow that exit to Seven Hills rd, turn left. Pull into a servo and put Katoomba into you phone or GPS and away you go.

From the M2 exit to the M4 is around 10 minutes.

  • If driving is part of the trip and time isn’t that important, skip the tolls altogether.
