My locate Asian shop had this for $3.99 two weeks ago………..not a deal I am afraid

    • +1

      which suburb was it?

    • Where can buy this in Sydney with low price??

      • The best I could find was in bankstown 2 for $11.

Definitely one of my favourite instant noodles.

    • +1

I bought some from local Chinese supermarket a few days ago under $5 but a bit short expiry date

  • +9

    isnt it normal price?

  • +3

Gift wrap available. Not only it will be a perfect snack or meal, the perfect gift.

    • What

    • Christmas a couple of years ago I sent everyone I know a single cup of noodles as a joke Christmas present.

      • +10

Virgin did a similar thing to their business class passengers :)

    • +5

Did you have a stroke mid sentence?

  • +1

Can anyone vouch for the quality of these?

    • +11

      Good.

    • +7

The soup really tastes close to actual ramen you get at restaurants. Really worth trying in my opinion

      • +1

Agree with this. It’s one of the best packet ramens

      • +1

Absolutely agreed. Closest thing I've had to real Japanese ramen without being real Japanese ramen

  • +13

This is made in Indonesia, which taste absolutely different from REAL made in Japan instant noodles.

      • +12

Wow plz continue. I love hearing people’s insane opinions

      • +5

Damn this is the stupidest thing I’ve heard

      • +4

        Found the Facebook user

I heard they r holding those contaminated waters in their Olympic pools. Win-win as they will needed a place to store them n Olympic needed heaps of water. By the end of the games, the athletes will grow extra arms, fins, flippers.. u name it, to help them break their personal best.

      • Ooo, so radiation is the secret ingredient behind those pricy Japanese whiskys.

    • It also depends on your taste preferences. I did a single-blind taste test between Korean Shin Ramyun and Chinese Shin Ramyun and I preferred the taste of the Chinese one. I was surprised myself.

      • -2

Wasn't the China versions found to contain carcinogens?

        https://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/article/1069943/nongshim…

        • What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

        • +2

Wasn't the China versions found to contain carcinogens?

No, the link you posted doesn't mention China. The noodles that were recalled were Korean and don't include Shin Ramyun. The substances in question are not found in Nong Shim noodles that are made in China.

FWIW the Korean FDA found that the levels were too low to be harmful. They only issued a recall after politicians kicked a fuss.

    • which taste absolutely different from REAL made in Japan instant noodles.

Yes, they are better you can get it from some Chinese supermarket here but more expensive than those Made in Hong Kong.

    • Agreed ! Bought once, will not buy again even at this cheaper price. Normal Nissan seasame flavour much better for taste and price.

    • I disagree. I purchased the nissin raoh ramen noodles (https://nissinfoods.com/products/raoh-ramen) which is meant to be their premium "made in Japan" noodles and I prefer the taste of the ones listed by the OP. RRP of the Roah brand is double the standard ones and there's no way they are that much better.

      • I mean Nissin is the inventor of instant noodles. It's not like the Indonesian made noodles are made by their factories, they are absolutely massive.

But yeah some of their other varieties are almost too chewy or something.

    • Hmmm taste is subjective. I recall Indonesia could be the second largest instant noodle producer after China. Surely they gain the experience. I love this noodle. Usually bought in Asian grocery around the price mentioned by OP.

  • +3

Woolies have it for $6.75. Yes, this deal is cheaper but it seems hardly worth it for $0.80 or fr those who don't have prime.

  • It's all about the broth

    • -2

      you mean MSG…. XD

      • +6

        Nothing wrong with MSG

        • Tell that to my wife

      • +4

it's literally just fancy salt and it occurs naturally in the tomatoes and cheeses u eat.

  • My local Asian grocery at Eastwood and Carlingford sells for $4.99. So not a deal.

    • +2

      Well not for you anyway

    • +2

      Check the expiry date

    • My local Asian grocery at Eastwood and Carlingford sells for $4.99. So not a deal.

If I send you $4.99 will you deliver a pack to me?

  • 2 to 4 weeks delivery? that doesn’t sound like amazon.

  • +5
  • Picked this up yesterday at my local for $3.33. Love nissin.

    • $3.33 must be short expiry date

  • To those that buy these on the regular. Do you just eat them as is or do you try and source the additions seen in the picture on the packet and chuck that in?

    • +3

I have these about once or twice a month. I usually just chuck in any leftover meat/veggies in the fridge. Add some coriander/spring onions and the ajitsuke tamago at the end and its done.

    • I don't mind it topped with slices of fried spam

    • +1

I add fish and meat balls and a fried egg

  • +1

The black garlic flavour is far superior imo

  • Is there information of ingredients?

  • instant noodles imported from Japan always have a short dates, like they give the rest of the world stock they can't sell.

when you go to Japan (pre covid) the instant noodles are better, even when buying the same brand, taste better and fresher.

    it's weird
I use to got to Japan just to buy instant noodles

they also have a michelin star instant noodles at 7 11 that was really good. broth is so rich (and fatty lol)

  • You guys should try this new from Chinese supermarket

    https://www.nissinfoods.com.hk/tch/products/demae-iccho?cate…

    • Absolutely agree , this is way better ! :)

    • Dam I saw this today but didn't get it. Got the one in this deal for $5 regular price at Asian grocery store.

    • felt like a mix of Chinese noodle and Instant noodle… also noted that still made in HK.

  • +1

Don't recommend this. Buy the one made in Hong Kong or made in Japan. The taste is much better!

  • +1

fairly sure this is just the normal price. And if on sale, you can get them for under $1 per packet

    • +1

Not these ones - made in Indonesia, noodle texture is different.

You are thinking of the original ones made in HK.

  • Not low FODMAP

  • -1

Damn, milk in the ingredients. Anyone have a suggestion for something in this quality bracket that is vegan friendly?

    • Indo Mie Goreng.

  • This noodle is heaps cheaper at coles compare to the Asian grocery store. Asian grocery charges ~$9 for the same pack of 5. I always stock them up when they are 10% off.

    • -1

      No hallall stamp.

  • +1

Make sure you cook them the right way don't put noodle, soup base, sauce all in to cook them together.

Soup base use hot water on bowl stir it, cook noodle for 3 mins not too long and put the noodle into the ready soup and add sauce.

    • why cant u cook them all together?

  • Back in stock at Amazon

  • Bought from Amazon, thanks.
