  • Surely a 5% store wide discount doesn't get applied after a price match?

I got mine with price match.

T&C's seem to not exclude price matched items

Do you think this is worth it, for somebody who drinks coke / pepsi regulary as a substitute?

I stopped drinking a long time ago, I used this as a bit of a crutch to help. You can buy a large Co2 brewers gas bottle and an adaptor hose, and never have to refil the bottle. I use mine daily. Cost about $150 for the bottle and the adaptor.

Good stuff getting off the sodas

    • You can get the same level of carbonation with these, but the flavour will be the hardest part. Most colas dont come close, maybe steal a box of syrup from subway or maccas

      • I’ve found with the proper brands (Pepsi) signing up recently it’s much better.
The 7up tastes exactly the same now.

        • Oh cool i had no idea , will check it out.

  • Woolies soda water is 75c a bottle or cheaper depending on stack, cheaper than Soda stream and declutters your kitchen.

    • I don't have one but doesn't a 60L cylinder make 60 bottles and cost $19 from Kmart? So ~32c a bottle. After recouping machine costs you'd be saving from then on. But yeah I can't fit another appliance in my kitchen!

    • Same with Coles. I prefer Coles tbh, much more fizzy than Woolies one. Hence my SS collecting dust

      • How do you keep it fizzy longer? Mine goes off after a few days

        • +1

That's normal, I normally finish them each day.

Alot of the time the stock is old, next time you go Coles. Look for bottles that have bubbles at the top the more bubbles the gassier it will be, usually hard to find I manage to score fresh ones every few weeks

          • @Bretttick: Yep, best to fill a bottle, put it in the fridge, then carbonate it when you're going to drink it (the small half-size bottles are super convenient), then add the syrup in if you wanna drink from the bottle. Those 7up, Pepsi, Mirinda, Mountain Dew ones aren't bad, and you get the added benefit of making them less (or more) sweeter.

The fizz goes out of it pretty quick. This machine for $99 is pretty damn cheap if it's the one with the light up indicator (uses a weird sized battery to power it, so no AC required).

It may be cheap but it's terrible for the environment. The sodastream is always cheaper in the long term - How long it takes to start saving depends on how much you drink and how you get your gas.

  • pepsi max syrup is so good with this. taste exactly the same. I didn't believe it at first but when i tried it i was convinced.

  • Anyone know if this comes with the CO2 canister?

    • It does, standard 60L cylinder

  • @marka?
