Soda Stream is such a scam, you can just just mix it with soda water
you could say the same about most things…
Lots of people buy it to cut down on plastic usage.
I can refill my 6kg of CO2 for $50 at my local brew shop, that should make well over 500L of soda water.
Aldi sodawater is 82c /L, so to have the same amount of sodawater it would cost over $400.
You could buy a new 6kg gas bottle, sodastream, and adaptor everytime and still be ahead.
Also if you used soda stream gas refill it would be $300, which is still cheaper.
SodaStream is an Israeli company, it means you should think twice and shop ethically.
Six Barrely Soda is NZ owned, and great.
And also SodaKing is aussie owned if you want to shop refills locally.
Six Barrel Soda is really expensive, a $17 bottle of syrup makes 3 litres. It's not really a soda stream replacement. I'd stick with SodaKing.
Speaking of which, SodaStream isn't an Israel company anymore, they're part of Pepsi. I understand why they were previously a big problem (and while they claimed to support Palestinian workers, they mostly moved into the West Bank for the tax breaks), but lots of pressure was put on them and they moved their manufacturing facility years ago.
i agree they arent israeli any more but they still have a plant in the west bank
