    I tried to use ashampoo burning studio a little while ago for burning an avi file to a dvd disk and was stunned at how bad it is.. Set it up to do a 2hr avi file, and it came back telling me it would take 45 mins.. got to teh end of the 45 mins, and all it had done was transcode the audio.. wtf.. I have a 8 core machine running @ 4.5ghz.. Ashampoo is a single threaded app!!! Let me just say that they received a very abusive/colourful rant when i filled in their survey for uninstallation…
    anyway, i then found avi2dvd and it did the whole thing in about 20 mins..

    And don't even get me started on their constant, and I mean, constant almost stalk-a-tive spam-a-geddon..

      That'd be the free version I assume? I had Ashampoo uninstall a while back and while it worked really well, the ads started to bug me. I assume that if you pay for their software they will stop or tone down the advertising.

        No.. this was for their $50 product.. I bought it when they had a special going… Even if you pay for their software, they still email you once or twice a day..

        rubbish company.. rubbish software..

      I have been using Ashampoo Burning Studio over the years. I currently use Burning Studio 9. And I have nothing but great experience with this soft. Much-much better than with Nero.
      I have also been using Ashampoo Slideshow Studio HD 2. It's fast and efficient.
      As for their e-mails, you can always unsubscribe or block them if you don't need them.

        you can, but it's complicated…. meaning you have to remember the name/password that you signed up with….. it's not as straight forward as clicking 'unsubscribe' unfortunately….
        They tend to come from different addresses too…..
