  • I'm so confused with these MFi certified cables (for iPhone 12pro)

I've gone down too many reddit holes trying to figure out what cable "NathanK" or some other person recommends.

Can I just buy anything that is MFi nowadays? Or should I just pay $55 for a 2m cable direct from apple?

Am I really destroying my phone with a non-apple MFi certified? Or is just not charging at the same speed?
Are we talking about nerd-core, over-the-top analysis kind of thing here? Or is there something genuinely important about sticking to Apple core.

I'm guessing NONE of these cables support iPhone 12 right now?

Hi, I bought a bunch of Target cables (I don’t think they are Mfi but I could be wrong) on clearance and they have been perfect!!!!
The other cables I found good are the Amazon Basics (mfi )
I found both the target and Amazon better quality than the original one. Not sure about the ones listed here.
I charge my iPhone 12 with these cables using an older type normal charger plug

    • Haribol are MFi certified. Just chuck in Haribol in the MFi search

  • I but the bullet and bought an Anker Powerline II at Amazon last week. It’s $$ at $19.99 for 1m - when all it does is transport low current electrical signals.

But the reason I bought it was that it comes with a lifetime Anker warranty. I’ve used their warranty before - it’s hassle free. Hop on website, upload proof of purchase, photo of item and/or serial number and they send out a replacement.

You could argue that it’s cheaper to buy a bunch of no name/no warranty cables and may be right. But the Anker stuff also tends to work for a long period of time before they finally give up as well.

These are junk. I've ordered two sets and got a refund when each cable failed after 2-3 months of use.

  • My Aldi Lightning Cables have been working for ages
