@QUAGI: good to hear - i've been enjoying the market lane blends but rarely can make it out to Wood & Co to grab their beans :)

            • @chickhen: Is the founder of Wood & co still in Australia ? Thought he went back to NZ

Hey Tim! I've been a recurring purchaser for a while now and loving the deals and services you've been providing the OzB community :)

I'd love to buy 4 coffees to make up a 1kg bundle, but so many options!

Could you make a suggestion of 4 for a milk with coffee lover, and I'll proceed straight to checkout :)

    • Thanks for the support!

      Sure thing:

      • Staple Seasonal
      • Staple Tore Badiya
      • AXIL seasonal
      • Cartel Chief Rocker
      • Cartel Drummer Boy
      • Padre DG Blend
      • Padre Seasonal
      • Wood and Co Twin Peaks
      • Wood and Co Karma

      Enjoy :)

      • +1

Great, I will go with this selection too! Cheers

It's great that you are offering different ways to purchase, but just one thing I find strange about the pricing: some coffees are cheaper to buy in a 1KG lot, and some coffees are cheaper to buy in a 2KG mixed bundle.

This leads to the nonsensical situation where if I buy 4x bags of one coffee as part of a 2kg bundle, I'm actually paying MORE than if I bought that 1kg of coffee separately. Even though I'm buying the exact same thing (4x 250g of the one coffee) AND I'm buying another 1kg of other coffees on top of that. From a consumer perspective, this is a nonsense!

Personally, I think if I'm committing to buying 2KG of coffee from you, I should be getting at least as good pricing as the 1KG (of a single coffee) for the individual coffees. Particularly since they are all bagged into 250g, regardless of which way you buy.

I think you should reconsider the pricing. (Between 1kg lots vs 2kg bundles) :)

(I get that this is probably driven by volume discounts on the supply end from individual suppliers. But your "USP", in my opinion, is being able to aggregate volumes across sales, to enable volume discounting to be passed onto the consumer, providing flexibility of choice but still generating bulk volumes across sales.)

But despite that (constructive, I hope!) criticism, keep up the good work! :)

Thanks for the feedback! Please know that I really appreciate you taking the time and effort to type this out.

The long story short is that this disparity comes down to the level of discount on a whole kilo as opposed to a 250g increment. However, this difference is incredibly inconsistent across our suppliers - especially for smaller roasters.

I totally hear where you're coming from and agree that if you want 2kg of the one coffee you should be getting the best price. However, the 2kg bundle was built with the idea that people would get a range of products (most people will get 8 different coffees).

This being said, back to your point - I totally agree and will be figuring out how we can configure things so that folks wanting 2kgs of the same coffee will always get the best price. As you've flagged it's an odd thing.

Seriously value you taking the time to lay this out :)

All good mate, and thanks for taking my ramblings in the spirit that they are intended! :)

  • +3

Not sure why this doesn't get more upvotes. Has got to be the most cost effective way to buy high quality coffee in bulk. Absolute phenomenal deal and the roster of roasters constantly changing (a really good thing!).

    • Thanks :)

    • +1

I'd say the prices are still on the expensive side, particularly considering good coffee deals we often see here (20-40% OFF).

I added 4x250g (Wood and Co and Padre) to my bundle and it's $56.84/Kg, which is about 14% OFF for this particular selection. Coffee selection might be good, but that's not an amazing deal pricewise as 1kg of Karma is $58 on W&C website. It might be a better deal if you choose 1kg of the same, but I'd expect a better price for an upvote.

  • Axil decaf?

    • We can, however you'll be getting decaf that was roasted yesterday.

If that's ok just pop through a message and I'll organise it :)

      • +1

I just put my order in!!! But it's OK - maybe next time.

  • +1

Hey hey! Do these come ground already? If not, can I request them ground in the order notes? Thanks!

    • If you'd like them ground just let us know how you brew in the notes :)

  • +1

Can anyone recommend a good coffee for drip filter? Cheers.

    • Hey Pupdog! Sure thing, I'd suggest checking out:

      • Staple Coffee - FINCA SANTUARIO Filter
      • Market Lane - José Santana Filter - 250g
      • Market Lane - Nkara Filter - 250g
      • Market Lane - São Benedito Filter - 250g
      • Wood and Co - Elkin, Colombia Filter - 250g
      • Wood and Co - Remera, Rwanda - 250g
      • +1

Thanks. I 'll try some of these suggestions.

  • Hi mate, my order from pre Easter finally arrived today and one of the 250g bags is wrong.

I was given a market lane nyarusiza espresso instead of the la Esperanza one. Definitely not the type of coffee I like going off the notes and was looking forward to the la Esperanza the most! How can we sort this? Order #6537, Cheers

    • +1

Oh no! Sorry to hear that - I'll send through an email first thing tomorrow morning so we can get this sorted for you.

    • Hey mate, just checking was your order #6507?

      • +1

Hey, sorry i mentioned the wrong one earlier! it was #6527

Market Lane - La Esperanza Espresso - 250g
        Padre - DG Espresso Blend - 250g
        Padre - Seasonal Espresso Blend - 250g
Wood and Co - Karma Blend - 250g

  • +1

Sorry for the confusion but are all sold as whole beans?

I have the following in my cart and only the Staple stipulates 'All coffee is sold as Whole Beans.'

    • Wood and Co - Twin Peaks Blend
    • Wood and Co - Karma Blend
    • Staple Coffee - Tore Badiya Espresso
    • Staple Coffee - Seasonal Espresso Blend
    • Yep! All coffee is sold as whole beans :)

      Sorry about the confusion!

  • +1

Any plans for a deal on Small Batch?

    • We didn't add it this week as we're just trying to catch up with everything from easter!

However, if you pop through a PM or WhatsApp with what you're interested in I'll look after you :)

      Cheers,
      Tim
