Paul from ApusWorld.com.au Is Running a Scam

It appears that a lot of Australians have been scammed by Apusworld.com.au

This is their Modus Operandi:

  1. You purchase from Apusworld.com.au
  2. Paul from Apu's world provides an AusPost tracking ID
  3. Auspost tracking ID shows the number is legit
  4. Auspost shows that your item has been picked from the sender
  5. after this there wont be any updates on Auspost
  6. You will then send emails messages etc to Apus world but no one will reply
  7. if you ever get a reply then Paul will tell you that he already sent your parcel and you should lodge a case with Auspost
  8. Paul will then stop replying until you threaten him
  9. Paul then relies upon that you will somehow make an insurance claim to get your money back

how many of you have a similar experience?

Why are you buying things from an unknown random website with no verified credentials nor contact details? It's not your responsibility to chase AusPost or make a claim, you have no contract with them. Do a chargeback and move on.

Why would Australia Post be saying on their system that the product has been picked from Sender and then provides no update. Wouldn't they become implicated in that "scam" as well?

Perhaps the OP is confusing 'item collected' with 'information received by AusPost'?

I just spun the wheel. There were 34 prizes left and I received 10% off. Also, I entered my email to get 20% off. Bargains everywhere! (if you dare)

Also, speak to his boss, Apu, I presume.

But it looks like a one-man show rather than a scam.

      Dazzled by the graphics….

It should be the seller than the buyer as it's the seller who's paid AusPost to deliver the item to the buyer.

    https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.apusworld.com.au

There are quite a number of five star reviews with only 1-3 reviews left by many of those people across the site.

how is this business not registered for GST

also seems like it's a sole trader business and therefore the owner is personally liable…

so, his real name is ATEEQ RASHID SHEIKH

sole trader and not even registered for GST. no wonder

    A) why would you buy from a place called apusworld.

    B) why do people insist on buying from dodgy looking websites that sell everything under the sun. No one can keep that much different stock, they are obviously either a scam or some kind of dodgy dropshipper.

    • I've seen their deals around lots, surprised they haven't been tended to, otherwise people will still get caught out on OZB

I wouldn’t buy anything from a pus world

  • Anyone had any luck with a PayPal dispute for this seller?

Seems to have scammed a number of people… Item shipped but declared lost, then seller goes very quiet.

    • I threatened them to file a case with CTTT and Fair Trading, they refunded the money straight away
I spoke to AusPost, they confirmed that Apus world didnt send them the item.
Paul (real name ATEEQ RASHID SHEIKH) is misusing the AusPost system where he marked that item has been picked up by Auspost but he never sent them the parcels
