You are aware HN were recently fined $750k for dodgy catalogue practices, i.e. putting a cheap price in their mailed catalogues but fine print stated this price was only applicable at a small number of stores (one store per state), and putting a cheap price in their online catalogues, but it only applying to one store in the country (I think it was Auburn NSW) ?
One would hope they are no longer doing that …

I was in Domayne Bundall yesterday having a look while waiting for the bus, and they had some $19 printers there, ran out of time to get a picture, HP 1000/2000 or something, was a whole pile of them.
Aswell as free Optus $2 sims.

HN advertising is really inflated to make it look 'exclusive'. HN stores in WA have had the three pack SanDisk for $12 since last week at least. Still, a good price all the same. Another good price (IMO) are the Toshiba 8GB USB's for $9 each.

Just saying, I buy Ink online from inkstation etc. for my brother 2140, buy a triple-pack and it saves a fortune. As long as you don't buy OEM, its still cheaper to keep your printer, and lets face it, it's ridiculous to buy a printer every time + they give you half empty cartridges anyway.
i got 2.5 years out of a brother 2140 for $88 so just bought a new one 2142 and its been going for prob another couple of years

They are a bi!@#$ to deal with Purt, I prefer just paying the little bit extra
to get the whole cartridge rather than having to shake toner all over the place into
a drum. Also you then need to reset toner etc. basically a pain in the !@#$

No it doesn't. It can print at most 700 pages.
Reference? Feels like mine (different model, same entry level though) has done well over 700 pages on it's toner.

Pretty much all really cheap laser and LED printers come with half filled cartridges, otherwise you might be tempted to throw away the printer and buy another when the cartridge runs out. Ruins the OEM's business model.
I bought a (back then) cheap Samsung ML-1640 printer that has just run out of toner at the 800 page mark. OEM 1500 page toner? $80. Third party 1500 page toner off eBay including postage? $30. Print quality looks the same with the cheap cartridge.

you have to find a deal for ear buds if you plan to print whole day otherwise it should be fine
Just got one, the ink cartridge cost more than the printer. Good price for the printer though.
Went into Hobart HN yesterday after seeing the $42 post. They had sold out but were getting another 6 in. They offered to hold one of the ones coming in for me at the $42 price. I called to check if it had arrived today. It hadn't but as I had just seen this post, I asked that they alter the reserved price to $38. They were more than happy to do that and expect it in on Monday. Not bad attitude I thought :)

They do not stock the HL2130 as they confirmed today when I tried to beat them down to the $38 price (less 5%) as they had in stock :

HN Browns Plains Qld had the HP Photosmart C310 for $95 last time I was in there. Absolute bargain for what it is. Usually about $170. I have one and love it (of course I paid about $170 from OW about 4 months ago).
