[Kogan First] Kogan LED Monitor Lamp $25.99 Delivered @ Kogan

240

Kogan First Exclusive Deal.

I saw the Xiaomi monitor lamp deal the other day and thought it was a really good idea for a product, but was more than 2x what I was willing to pay for a 5w dimmable LED lamp that illuminates a desk from being mounted on a monitor.

I spent the last week checking out Aliexpress for one that would suit, but the ones that are 40cm and can mount on most monitors tended to be $35+, whereas the 26cm ones that only mount on laptops were around $20.

I just saw that Kogan has a sale at the moment where if you are part of Kogan First (can sign up for a free 14 day trial) that the cost of their monitor lamp goes down to $26 delivered. I just purchased it and wanted to post it here for others who really want a monitor lamp but didn't want to pay $50+ for it.

  • Thanks OP. good use of my Rewards Points.

  • Maybe a good present for a student.

  • Why would a monitor need a lamp?

    • +2

Very effective light coverage with no desk space needed for a lamp.

      Example

      • Do you have the Kogan?

  • Nifty but I have my webcam clipped to the top of my monitor and not sure the two would play nice together.

    • +1

clip webcam on this light bar

  • one of the pictures has the light's legs protruding onto the screen :\

  • Can you just clip this to a laptop? I don’t have any monitors.

  • The price comes up at $49.99

    • You need to be a Kogan First member to get the special pricing. You can sign up for a 14-day free trial to access it, but cancel soon after or you'll be hit with a $6/mth fee after that.

thank you bought one, I didn't want to spend $50+ on a desk light but under $30 it's reasonable

I've spent a small fortune in the last couple of weeks at Kogan I reckon I need to buy some Kogan shares.

Good deal. I have Baseus monitor lights from aliexpress, and they were around $50-60. It would be interesting to see how the build quality on these differ, but at this price who can complain

  • +2

Has anyone bought this before that can comment on the quality specifically?

I don't know how often I actually need a lamp these days, tbh the only time I print or read something printed while working is when I need to sign something. Also dont need a light to type.

Mine was delivered about an hour ago and I'm pretty impressed with it so far. It's made from metal (was expecting plastic), has a nice heft to it, and the touch controls work great with no latency.

My monitor is a Dell S2721D that has pretty slim bezels and the feet of the monitor don't obstruct the panel at all.

I'm impressed with how the light doesn't cause any glare on the screen itself. I was expecting it to. With that in mind I'm able to angle the light a tad more towards the monitor so I can't see the LEDs at all, but there's a nice light projection still over my desk.

It wasn't packaged well though. It came in a plain white box that wasn't even taped shut. It could have fallen out of the package during transit, but it didn't.
