Centrecom Custom PC Build Update

Hi guys and girls,

Figured I’d write this brief review for anyone wondering like I did originally when first using centrecom, I’m in no way affiliated and this is my personal experience. I paid centrecom to build a pretty beastly pc for me recently, 5800X, MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk Wi-Fi AM4 ATX Motherboard, MSI 3080, 32gb ram etc and even ordered some cable extensions for neat cable management. Through the entire process these guys were professional, quick with email replies and quick with compatibility information for example my rad was to big for the top of the case so they let me know straight away and we changed it out for another. I was a bit worried I will admit as unlike other builders where you can speak to your system builder you can’t with these guys only the online team with an email or phone call and they will pass your information on to the system builder.

Anyway my pc arrived yesterday and I have to say, damn these guys did a fantastic job, I mean seriously. The cable management alone is just fantastic even the hidden cables at the back of the pc are so neatly done with all custom cable ties, the main gpu and motherboard cables are so damn neat with custom cable combs, the fans done in the correct push pull config, they even downloaded the correct fan controller for my lian li fans so all the rgb works as it should with no stuffing around I got Lian Li Uni fans through out. They even setup the NZXT Kraken Z73 - 360mm AIO Liquid Cooler with LCD Display and configured it correctly and done in the correct location with rad up top of case which you can YT vids on is the best way for cooling/longevity with most rads.

Anyway, hats off to these guys, for $100 to build honestly the time and effort they put in is definitely worth it, I want to add as well, whilst I built my last pc the one prior to that was built by scorptec which was good but the centrecom build quality to my eyes was far better. To add to this the reason I decided to get someone to build my pc this time round was because of RMA and Gpu shortages etc, for example I originally had a founders edition 6900XT going in my centrecom build but the card was faulty and causing my system to constantly crash, centrecom contacted me immediately and said we need to change it and had 3080’s on hand so no mucking about with rma which if it happened to me during my build would of been a massive time consuming inconvenience not mention I would have waited ages for a replacement where as centrcom was able to just swap it out for a 3080, on top of this my warranty is held with the store so I don’t have to rma anything ever, just do a phone call to try and trouble shoot of the issue persists I just send the pc back and they handle it.

Over all, I can definitely recommend centrecom based on everything and knowing what I know now I will be using them again, even their standard shipping was fast, build took a week with testing and shipping from melbourne to central coast of the back of a long weekend took 4 days.

Brilliant and highly recommended.

System price is also good to know.

In fact, putting the completed build on
PC Part Picker will likely serve as a better recommendation than just posting here, but is a bit more effort.

  • Post to productreview ?

I though productreview was just to rant about negative experiences

I'm guessing they had some 17 year old in there on $16.43 per hour building it. Probably some passionate dude that was dreaming it was his own machine and loved every minute of it.

Always great hearing positive stories in these doom and gloom forums.

Probably me when I was 17. Would have done it for free.

Would have taken it home and done it too.

  • I uploaded a couple of quick pictures for you guys, i did it in my profile through the "files" option, the glass on the case is a bit reflective and looks like a oxford street nigh club at the moment but hopefully that gives you an idea. I can get better photos later, let me know if you guys can the pics in my profile?

    Cheers guys

Props to you for providing positive feedback - it seems to be a rarity these days!

    • Thanks mate, I'm not one for leaving many reviews. Usually very, very rare I do. These guys did right by me so figured it's only fair.

Just do it yourself and save $100… Seriously, it's not that hard

  • Not sure I'd want win 10 with stuff already installed but the rest sounds pretty good.

    • They have to install something so they can boot and test it. You can tell them not to but kinda defeats the purpose if an issue arises in which may as well just build yourself

  • Update, it appears as though the GPU has DOA’d itself after only a week of use, was playing a game and the monitor went black saying display port signal, tried a different monitor, different dp cables, both dp ports on 3080 gpu and usb cable all ports appear to be dead. Have lodged a ticket, guess I’ll now be able to give feedback on their after sales customer service.

Will update when I hear what they want me to do next.

    • What happens when you…

      1. Remove the GPU and plug it in again to the same PCI-E slot.
      2. Plug in the GPU to a different PCI-E slot.
      3. Unplug the GPU cables and plug them back in.

        Hi Twix,

        1. Same thing “no displayport signal”
        2. Can’t do this not enough clearance bewteen bottom of case and gpu to fit that way.
        3. See my answer to no1.

I’ve lodged a ticket, will call them in the morning, educated guess is dead gpu (even thought lights and fans spin on gpu) I’d say all the output ports (dp and hdmi) are doa. None of them work, I can completely rule out the minitor, I have two different monitors from different brands (asus and dell) two display port cables and no display signal gets through on any display. I even tried hdmi cable from 3080 to monitor that says “no hdmi signal.

I plugged my laptop into monitor via hdmi and that works fine, it’s the gpu I’m pretty sure, amd has no onboard gpu in their cpu so I can’t really tell what’s going on but when you turn the pc on all fans spin, ram lights up, mobo side lights come on even gpu lights up and fans spin on gpu, but based on what I can see I’d say the gpu is the issue unfortunately. I’ll just send the entire pc back for them to diagnose and fix so I don’t mess up any warranty terms with them. Not a huge issue but damn it’s a disappointment, I’m so glad I had them build it though stuff if I want to mess around with msi rma service.

I’ll update when i have more info.

Update 1. Rang this morning to warranty department, explained the situation and how I tested everything, no questions asked they emailed me a return shipping label at their own expense and I’ve shipped the PC back this morning for them to fix they said a 10 day turn around, So far so good.

    I’ll update as things progress.

Final update, apologies for the delay. So it was my cpu that died and killed the pcie lane the runs the gpu signal hence I couldn’t get any display signal, I’d never heard of this before but apparently a few 5800x had come back doing this I was thinking gpu issue for certain. Anyway centrecom where quick to diagnose, repair and ship back they had 5950x’s in stock so I got one of those put in instead.

They paid shipping both ways and no questions asked.

No more issues, runs like a dream.
