Where are your skins from?

  • is this the company that thinks it owns the brand?

No - this is a Melbourne based company im pretty sure. That article is referencing the company "Australian Leather"

Bought this couple of month ago and as per my experience they are inferior quality, shoe was slippery too.
Also it was shipped damaged and have to involve Paypal to get a refund which took more than a month.
I would rather pay bit more and get a quality pair. I didn't see any "Made in Australia" quality to be frank :(

    • +4

On the flip side I purchased a pair last year from this mob- couldn't be happier with the quality.

    • Have to agree - last year I bought a pair from Ugg Australia, and also one from Ugg (The US company that owns the name).

The Ugg Australia pair has two issues - the heel is starting to come unglued, and the stitching is failing on one boot. I haven't had any issues with the "genuine" pair (that said, the Ugg Australia pair was almost half the price).

hehe "Genuine". you mean the one that registered the trademark in the US then tried to take the generic term in Australia.

Interesting that they are not good quality. That is unfortunate.

        • Yeah, hence the quotes on "genuine". It seems there is an enormous amount of drama around the origins and ownership; far more than I'd expected for a pair of slippers

  • Has been regularly cheaper in the past at $58 delivered, as recent as the start of last month

  • so are we saying that Ugg boots made in Australia are not as good in quality when compared to Ugg boots (from the US company that owns the name) which are probably assembled in China?

  • Anyone able to comment on the quality of Ugg Australia compared with the other Victorian based Ugg company, Original Ugg?

  • Yes I'd like to know the same. I still remember the UGG boot stall from Victoria market when I was about 8yo I'm not 100% they are the 'original' UGG boot company but if I could find them and knew their products were good quality I'd pay a little more to support them. Seriously a kind of sick joke that UGG could be copyrighted let alone by a company outside Australia.

    • sadly difficult to find top notch long lasting ones. I bought half shin lace up ones for my wife 18 years ago. Glued the soles back on but otherwise still going strong (inside use only)
      .

      • Have you tried Blue Mountain Ugg Boots (https://www.uggboots.com.au/)? My wife has bought a pair two years ago and she's still quite happy with it. Granted it is a sample size of one, and not as cheap as the one on promo here, but we think it was justified as it is local business and so far the quality is still holding.

Hey, the mens is still showing asa $179, someone miss something?

    • Only you, it works fine with the supplied link and code

  • thanks! I was looking at crappy grosby synthetic ones that were like $59 so this was good timing :)

  • Purchased two. and just arrived. Feels good on feet. Time will tell how long they survive.
