First post, and I’m on mobile so please be kind!

I saw this on Amazon while browsing for an amp for my pair of Jamo S803 speakers that are on the way.

From an RRP of $899 to $660, I believe these might be the cheapest they have been posted here, and also as per camelcamelcamel.

Hope this is a good enough deal to qualify!

      Not really because when it's powered on the display is the focus of attention and that should be in the middle for balance. When you look at it powered on everything is on the right hand side with the display between the 2 dials. How is this balanced, it looks ridiculous.

    You will regret no atmos down the track. If you can afford an 8k TV you can afford a better receiver.

        Next Yamaha model up, RX V6A. Can be had for under $1000 and in stock at plenty of places.

        Not 8K but still work well and cheaper at $799. Onkyo TX SR494.

        Probably should be patient and wait for a better deal here on ozbargain. One important thing for future proofing is to have HDMI 2.1 pass through for 4k 120hz TVs.

          @mckayver: That's right. 8K/60hz and 4K/120hz minimum 5.2.2 with all codecs are bare minimum.

    Is Atmos primarily about the ceiling speakers or the better quality of audio codec in general?

      Yes it's about the ceiling speakers but in my opinion it's more about having options in the future.

  I've got the RX-V6A and the front is a dust magnet..
  5 seconds after cleaning it, and it's covered in dust again!

  Good unit though.
