First post, and I’m on mobile so please be kind!

I saw this on Amazon while browsing for an amp for my pair of Jamo S803 speakers that are on the way.

From an RRP of $899 to $660, I believe these might be the cheapest they have been posted here, and also as per camelcamelcamel.

Hope this is a good enough deal to qualify!

Is this yamaha new design with the volume dial in the centre. I don't really like it.

  • No phono. I suppose a lot of players come with pre amp now (line out)

  • Not an Atmos Receiver but it takes 8K. Tempting!

You will regret no atmos down the track. If you can afford an 8k TV you can afford a better receiver.

      • Suggest one for me kindly please.

It's quite scarce out there at the moment.

        • Next Yamaha model up, RX V6A. Can be had for under $1000 and in stock at plenty of places.

Not 8K but still work well and cheaper at $799. Onkyo TX SR494.

        • Probably should be patient and wait for a better deal here on ozbargain. One important thing for future proofing is to have HDMI 2.1 pass through for 4k 120hz TVs.

    • Is Atmos primarily about the ceiling speakers or the better quality of audio codec in general?

      • Yes it's about the ceiling speakers but in my opinion it's more about having options in the future.

No sir, we will not be. Unleaasshh the rudeness!!

    • OP is a butt head. Got 'em

      • Straight for the jugular!

  • I've got the RX-V6A and the front is a dust magnet..
5 seconds after cleaning it, and it's covered in dust again!

    Good unit though.
