  • Nothing on my standard Elevate Amex, DJs Amex or Velocity Escape! Have only used my standard Elevate card once at JB Hi-Fi when they removed the 2.65% surcharge

    • +3

Got it on my main DJ Amex, not the supplementary one

    • +1

Strange, i have the elevate and have this

      • +1

Guess Amex think I'm a Kogan person and not a JB Hi-Fi person :(

  • So I guess purchasing gift card will trigger $20 credit too?

    • Should be able too, going by past promotions for other stores where gift cards are also sold. JB Hi-Fi don't tell Amex what you've bought there.

      • +2

Just purchased one and straight away got an email from Amex!

Got it on all 3 cheers

  • +3

Got on primary Qantas Ultimate but not in supps.

  • +1

    Only on my primary cards.

  • Got it on my Platinum Edge card too.

  • Got this on my Qantas Ultimate this morning.

  • Good timing with the 4K Fire TV Stick just being launched in Australia:

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/amazon-fire-tv-stick-4k-a…

    …or to use for Chromecast:

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/google-chromecast-with-go…

Couldn't find anything useful for $1 to make it to $100 - this will do:

Why not buy a $100 gift card and keep balance for next time

      • I'm not a huge fan of gift cards any more (unless there's a huge discount on them), as I don't like my money being tied up and not generating any interest / more money - ie: every spare dollar I have nowadays is going in to shares. Also, I don't want to have to remember to keep track of balances and wait to use them etc.

For this deal, I'm happy to get a 4K Fire TV stick for $80, and will gift the $1 video game to charity ;)

        • +1

I'd love to have a 4K TV stick but I don't have a 4K TV to take advantage of it.

    • If people were thinking to buy this and missed here, similar offer for Kogan too from Amex and same price for chrome tv.

  • Does anyone have a URL to access Amex offers?

    • This particular one? No; forumninja's already been here

  • Got it in my Qantas Discovery Card, nothing in Platinum Edge

  • Just received an email this morning. Got it on my Qantas Frequent flyer platinum card

  • Thanks OP, got on my Qantas Ultimate.

  • Not in any of my cards :(

  • Thanks op, got in my DJ card.

Maximum number of enrolments reached :(

    • +5

Got the email at 7:06am and by 8am maximum enrolments reached. Pretty annoying.

      • +1

Same here, my email arrived at that time (Essentials card) but didn't see it until just after 8, so missed out.

    • +1

Someone already selling in the classifieds!!! https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/618833

      • +1

Coincidence, maybe? (just like to give people benefit of doubt)

  • Finished

  • holy crap this thing filled up quick! I missed it :(

  • Should've logged in straight away to redeem when I saw the e-mail, missed out too :(

  • So quick, missed it :(

  • On primary, but on on supp.
    Thanks OP

Nice of Amex to send these out before anyone in WA has woken up….

    Missed out :(

    • I’ll be making a complaint, if anything at least they will know this is an issue for WA residents and future deals released at an early time.

      • I'm sure they will care

  • +1

received at 7am and capped at 9am…

  • +1

just got the email… what a sack of crap

  • +1

I got the email 7 am. 10 minutes later it was fully used. I missed it by 10 min and no more available.

    • +1

      Same. It stinks….

  • +8

Almost worth a neg so capping it so early.

Remember the days when Amex was an awesome card for offers? Now I have a regular internal battle if I should cancel the card.

    • -4

Neg cause u weren’t one of the first 20000?

      • +1

Neg because we pay $249pa for premium features such as NO OFFER FOR YOU

    • I’ve never seen a JB Amex offer before, I’m not surprised it would be popular.

  • No issues here…. got mine early this morning…

  • What the hell? Already finished!

  • Got it on primary Discovery card but not any of the supps.

  • Can't believe I got it.

  • Could you buy one item in store > $200 but then split payments across 2 cards to earn a $20 credit on each card? I was looking at doing this and also combining with gift cards to top up, which I hope would also not invalidate the cash back on the transaction. I don't think either are in breach of the T&C's but it would be good to know if there are any pitfalls to this approach.

    • Depends on your cashier. They should let if you ask nicely and not do it during peak periods. If not, then use one Amex to buy a gift card, then use the gift card you just bought to pay for your item.

      • Oh wow, didn't think of buying gift cards direct from JBH, as I thought it might be outside of the terms. So I could even just buy 2 x 100 gift cards online and get the credits back on both cards? This might actually help because the thing I wanted to buy is "coming soon" right now.

        • In theory, yes.

  • +1

I marked this as expired as the registration cap has already been hit but it got rejected?

    • Because the offer is still valid for those who were able to save the offer. You should have reported it as Other and said registrations were capped.

  • Has anyone tried to gain the credit via purchase of gift cards either online or in store?

    • +1

      cloudie9 already confirmed online upthread.

      • Received my $20 credit on my latest statement.

    • +1

Digital gift cards bought online work.

  • +1

Only for primary card, not secondary card.

  • Does this work for physical gift cards bought online?

    • +1

No idea but it certainly works for digital cards bought online.

    • +1

walked instore and got a jb gift card.
email was triggered and credit applied a few days later
