A popular airfryer I believe, alot cheaper than previous. Same as the HD9650/93 except with a UK Plug.

Less redemption steps to get the deal than the Latitude Pay one, but you gotta wait for delivery time, so you do you.

  • How about warranty?

  • Keep in mind this will come with UK plug

    • +2

Plug is not a big deal, warranty concerns me more. Good price.

  • Can you claim the $50 cashback on this?

    • Of course not.

      • Thought so, much better to get the local model.

        • You realize the cashback is only $50 right? This is about $120 cheaper than the local model. "much better" isn't really applicable here.

          • @Kerjifire: You do realize you get a total of $50 cashback, $50 off latitude pay, $50 store credit and $20 TGG off though little birdy voucher which brings it down to $289 if you purchased it off TGG?
This is what you quoted yourself.
You probably missed out on the deal anyways as its expired: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/618364
So YES, it WAS "much better" and applicable in comparison since you get a product with local warranty.
Nonetheless, people with few or no options could have opted for this one.

            • @thousandsuns: Alot more time and work post purchase, needing to pick up at the store and locked in to spend more with TGG AND only if you already haven't used Latitude Pay. Wouldn't consider that "WAY BETTER" but hey if you have the time sure.

              • @Kerjifire: I was considering purchasing this but then I didn't only for warranty reasons. You can't even register this product with Phillips. So spend extra $20 for local model worked for me. This was still a good price and a good deal, so well done.

                • @thousandsuns: If you haven't already pulled the plug, it may be on sale with Ebay plus tomorrow for around $323 after cashback. Just need to confirm the 15% off sale applies to the product.

      • Well - today I successfully managed to get ebay to price match this one of their local sellers that will allow me to claim. So, kind of can ;)

  • In what ways is a $300 air fryer better than the $40 ones? Love my cheap air fryer and want to know if it’s worth upgrading

    • I also love my $40 woolies one - but it's starting to fall apart so I am getting this as well

Moved up to this from the $69 kmart job after the handle broke.

This is i think 2200W vs 1700W, it is about 20-30% faster. It does a pizza in 5 mins vs 7-8 ish in the kmart one.

      It holds twice as much

Not saying it is as solidly engineered as say a kitchenaid mixer or anything, but it is obviously better constructed than my old kmart thing that lasted 18 months. Buying an el cheapo every year and a half isn't necessarily much of a saving if the more expensive one lasts 5x as long.

And most importantly the airflow makes the result much better. I used to get soggy bits on the bottom of chips in the old kmart air fryer and don't with this. Philips might point at their patented swirly air bs technology or something, but i think it is mostly just a better fan and a proper grill underneath as opposed to a tub with holes punched in it like the kmart one.

The down side of this (apart from the price of course) is that it actually is a bit more annoying to clean than the kmart one. There's two plates underneath and grill has to be removed and the lip it sits on washed thoroughly and if I don't the damn thing will set off the smoke alarm.

Anyway, I'd say, if it were the choice between the kmart one and this, I'd buy the Philips for sure, however I wouldn't be surprised if there might be a mid-range offering by some brand that I don't know of in the $200 range that is every bit as good as the Philips, just don't know which.

      Hope that helps.
