it is .99c on the itunes store, this aint very cheap??

  • What is it usually?

And how on earth can you compare iOS prices to WP7 prices? Pricing is not set by Microsoft (unless it's a Microsoft Studios game). And what's the relevance in bringing up a previous, expired promotion for another platform?

This should be judged on individual merit.. is it cheaper than it usually is for WP7? Yes.

        Contradict much?

        Developer sets price- agreed.

So in your mind this is a 'bargain' at $2.49 only because it's on WP7… yet was available for free on iOS very recently. Explain to me one more time how this deal got a plus vote from you again?

$2.49 isn't a bargain, and just because it's 'normal' price is even higher doesnt mean its any more of a bargain.

Come on man, you know that. Overinflated 'normal' prices doesnt equal bargain when they happen to drop it.

$2.49 for this app IS NOT a bagain…. regardless of how much you think WP7 somehow deserves to be set at a higher price.

UFO, you have to compare apples and apples to compare this bargain.

Can the iOS version (free or not) run on WP7? No.

Can this be considered a bargain for WP7 owners? Yes - the normal price is higher.

There is simply no point in comparing what it has been in the past on a different platform. For a WP7 owner who wants to play Flight Control this can be perceived as a bargain and is actually part of the official "Deal of the week" campaign.

We don't compare the price of software on OS X and Windows because it's not apples and apples (no pun intended).

        • So does this mean than xbox and ps3 games should never be considered bargains because the equivalent games on Steam are always so much cheaper?

Probably more relevant in these cases as most people who own a console would also have a pc, but not many people would have both wp7 and iOS phones.

    • Agree, expensive. But Microsoft doesn't set the price. It is set by the developer.

right, so no bargain… completely agreed! why the neg voting on my comment?

        • I did not neg vote u. Infact, gonna plus vote u now :)

        • Then edit your first post where you say GoodOld MSoft…

That infers that its Msoft who are doing this which you admit isnt the case.

Or is it a case of revisionist arguments?

I must be missing something here.

          Microsoft makes WP7.
This software is available through Xbox Live, also made by Microsoft.

This software was available recently for free (yes on another platform, but still same game and same developer), and yet WP7 people think this is a bargain at 'reduced price' of $2.49?

I'm not sure why I'm getting negged…. to me this is not a bargain plain and simple.

Or is it that WP7 people like being charged more for everything?

          Meh… anyway.

        • "Or is it that WP7 people like being charged more for everything?"

The slew of $179 handsets means we can afford to splurge on apps :)

    • If you have an iPhone, what do you care about a WP7 app?

This is a bargain for WP7 phone users - full stop. It has nothing to do with what is being sold for Apple or Android devices

      • -2

and just because that is indeed the case, what makes you think my right to vote is any less than yours?

i'm voting on whether this posted bargain is in fact a bargain- and to me it isnt.
but anyway, obviously 6 positive votes out of 61 views shows that a lot of people would agree with me.

  • yes on another platform

You probably knew why you got negged. WP7 people don't like being charged more, but people just disagree your view because you were comparing to a incompatible product.

Pretty sure the developer cannot use the source code from iOS version to compile into WP7 version. They have to put extra money and time to develop/convert the game into another platform, and they have every rights to recover the cost (plus profit).

  • Everyone let's just chill out, it's cheaper than usual so let's all just enjoy it. I don't even have a windows phone.
