  Thanks OP! Anyone knows how to cancel kindle order? I accidentally chose 1-click buy for a non-free book, the payment was failed though (insufficient balance) but Amazon still asked me to revise payment info:

  "We are having difficulty processing your payment, so are unable to proceed with your Kindle order
  Please go to the following page within 7 day(s) to make sure that the payment information for this order is correct"

  Will I be charged again for this order once I refill the card balance? I can't find any option to cancel the order, should I wait until 7 days for it to time-out?

    Yes (within one or two days of purchase), if your purchase has processed. From the "Account & Lists" menu in the top menu bar, select "Manage Your Content and Devices" and then "Actions" (the three dots beside the book you purchased) and "Return for Refund".

    Just because the copyright on something has lapsed, it doesn't mean it's free. People can charge whatever they want for the works and if nobody is distributing it for free, then it's too bad. Common misconception.

        Yeah I know, but people can still compile the text into an ebook and distribute it for a price since it's in the public domain.

          @TruthNuke: Common misconception… It is the author's published work that eventually expires and is then passed into the 'public domain'. For the author's original notes, drafts, revisions etc., the author, or their estate retains copyright. It then gets into murky litigation when those notes etc. get published themselves that it becomes a legal bunfight.
