$400 Trade-in and Stackable $200 & $50 Discount on Galaxy S21 Series (Galaxy S21 128GB $449, RRP $999) @ Samsung Store

2790

Looks like Samsung have increased their trade-in bonus on the Galaxy S21 to $400 (it has varied between $200 and $500 in the past two months). The $200 discount code also now appears to be stackable again, and you can also stack the $50 newsletter sign up voucher.

Ask a live chat agent (https://chatbot.samsungcs-au.com/) for a $200 discount voucher.

    how about samsung s21 ultra?

    • +3

      Same discount applies :)

  • +1

I'm sorry, what are you trading in I'm your screenshot exactly to get $800 discount?

    • Looks like an S10 128GB @ $400 plus the $400 bonus trade in.

      • +28

Trade in for my S7 is $10

        • Do you get the $400 with a crap old phone?

          • +2

            @Merlict: You do! :)

            • +2

@MiCCAS: No love for Xiaomi and Nokia for trade in.

        • Plus $400

        • But it's worth $610 trade in. $10 + $400 + $200. or $660 with 50 sign up voucher.

        • +2

You can keep the old phone after you buy and they only charge the $10. That's what I did last month.

          • +1

@tpenthouse: How? Do you just not send it?

          • +1

@tpenthouse: Are we sure this works? You were only charged the $10, not the $10 + (promo trade in bonus amount)?

          • @tpenthouse: Hi, could you please explain how you managed to keep the phone with you and paid it's offered value($10). Thanks

            • @Ramy7: After the trade in online it says non return of phone will incur $15 non return fee (s7 trade in). I then emailed samsung trade in and they replied saying if I wanted to keep it all I had to pay was the $15 trade in and we could keep the bonus trade in. From there you just ignore the return email and don't send it back. For me it was worth keeping the phone as a spare fir the sake if $15

              • @tpenthouse: you emailed "samsung trade in", are they from Samsung or Asurion?
I am checking with samsung chat and they advised that we must return phone otherwise need to pay $400 bonus credit….

                • +1

@SWill: Was the samsung trade up@ausurion.
I even got a email from them the other week saying I would be charged $15.

Before that I contacted samsung Web chat and they told me I did not have to pay bonus back. Defo double check incase it's changed.

Just checked. Email rey was on 31st march from [email protected]
                  quote…

"Thanks for your query. If you wish to not return your old device, you will only be charged the amount that you were offered for your old device and it will no longer be a requirement to return the old device to us. Promotion offer will still remain as it is. Hope that information was helpful. "

                  • @tpenthouse: Thanks mate, I will try, appreciate for info.

                    • @SWill: No worries. Fingers crossed. Besides I did it with my wife and my s7 so it worked twice

                      • +1

@tpenthouse: Worked! They said I will be charged only for device cost, but they don't know when I will be charged. lol
Anyway, thanks for your advice mate! I've ordered a nice pinky phone my wife :-)

                  • @tpenthouse: Did Samsung ever chase you up for the trade in bonus? Interested to hear what happened with a few weeks going by

      • How are you getting 400 for the S10 128gb? I got 235 for my s10 plus last month lol

        • +1

The promo is "trade-in value plus $400".

          • +1

@bio: OP suggested they got 400 for trade in +400 trade in bonus.

    • +1

No need to apologise! It was a Galaxy S10 512GB

      • How did you get $400 for the S10?

        I have S10+ 512GB and it's coming up as $245 trade in value 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

    • I'm only getting $205 for my s10 =(

      • +2

Plus $400 bonus plus $200 discount. So $805 all up

    • +3

For those who are confused, It's:

      $225 trade-in value S10 512GB
      $400 bonus Tarde Up offer
      $200 voucher (obtained via chat)

For a total saving of $825 OP got.

Not sure if the $50 sign-up voucher can be stacked this time around.

      • +2

        $50 stacked with the $200

  • +5

i feel shame people went to brick store to pay RRP $1249 for S21.

    • +28

Not many people from here would have done that.

  • What are you chatting the agent about?

    • +12

Literally just asked "Hi, I was told I could request a $200 voucher for the Galaxy S21 series."

      • +1

Wasn't sure if that was too direct but I like it. Thanks :)

      • +3

Ah good to know.. I tried "discount, discount, dissscooount" but only got the "I'm having trouble" response..

        • You need transfer from the bot to the live chat agent

  • I am getting $90 for my oppo

    • +2

Once you apply your code, you'll get an extra $400 discount applied :)

      • Wait, you're telling me the $400 is indiscriminate for ANY phone?

        • +3

For any phone that is eligible

          • @EVA-01: Well, my A90 says it's eligible and has a value of $140 but when I input the code given for my trade in it tells me there's an error

            • +1

@Hagla: Don't choose "in-store trade-in". Choose online/postal trade-in instead, enter you CC details in the next step and the trade code will be valid.

    • What Oppo? My Reno 5G is ineligible.

  • +1

In that screenshot looks like they are giving out free cable?

    • +1

Saw the same in my cart yes

    • Is the cable any different to the one that comes in the box?

      • no

        • Hmm, seems like a strange thing to throw in for free then. A basic charging brick or USB headphones would make more sense…

          • +2

@wombat81: That what i thought to, but the cable doesn't cost much so they probably just chuck it in with it.

  • S21 Ultra $1,364.30 at Samsung Education Store. No trade in offer though. Might be a good option if you don't have a phone to trade in for whatever reason.

    • Is this for the 256GB version? does $1,364.30 include the $50 newsletter discount?

      Looking at the 256GB on non-edu, it's $1,949 - $400 - $200 - $50 = $1,299 (at most, didn't include the actual trade in phone's value).

      • +1

Yes, for the 256 GB version, not including the $50 discount.

        • ouch so much for edu store discounts lol.

unless they're letting the $200 stack there?

          • @xrailgun: It's not bad considering you don't have to trade in a phone to get it at that price. Not sure about the $200 voucher there, generally they don't allow vouchers from the retail site to be used on the education site.

            • +1

@TheFunkySalsa: from the other commenters, seems like it's a good deal if you have ancient phones (i've got an s7), easy to dispute if asurion tries to pull a quick one.

Also, went to test my $200 code, it (still) does not work on edu site.

          • @xrailgun: Hey I just requested the coupon from that chat and they did mention that the coupon cannot be used in the education store.

    • I thought the samsing EPP sitenhad thr $300 tradein offer until the end of April?

      • They had one but it was til the end of March.

  • +5

So just to clarify, your trade in for the S10 was $400, then you got an additional $400 trade in bonus making it a total of $800 off? Can you then stack the $200 discount voucher on top of this?

    • Yes, 200 is stackable

  • +10

Unfortunately the price of S21 range went up comparing to previous $500 trade in offer time. Hope Samsung can bring the $500 trade in and discounted retail price back.

  • does it stack with sign up bonus?

  • Any past trade-in ozbargainers who didn't end up sending the trade-in phone back? Did they really only charge you for the phone's value, and let you keep the bonus $400/$500?

    • +1

Still too early to tell. Asurion takes a long time to do the processing, charging etc.

    • +3

My mate got charged $135 for his s9 (which was because they said it wasn't in good physical condition). He sent them an email asking for proof/or his phone back but never got a reply, so he filed a charge back from the bank and got his $135 back. (Bank ruled in his favour since asurion never replied to him) the $500 trade in promotion never got charged. Has been almost 3 weeks then. But that was the previous promotion. Not sure about this one. He still haven't heard from asurion.

      • +1

Good to know this, I sent in my good working condition phone in and they also said it wasn't in good physical condition (only a tiny crack on the top corner of the phone). I asked for proof/send back phone and so far nothing from Samsung yet.

Word of advice, if you are trading your phone in, make sure you don't just let Austpost ship it with the thinest satchel samsung provided (A5 size satchel with single thin layer of bubble inlay). it's definitely going to make your phone damaged in transit.

        • +1

His phone didn't have any cracks or dents. I mean, it's not perfect as it's a used phone, with minor scuffs on the body. But nothing damaged. Hence why he asked for photos, as he wanted to know if it was damaged during shipping. He gave them 3 days to reply before filing a dispute. But yeah, if you file a dispute at your bank, asurion doesn't fight it. They haven't even contacted him about it.

      • hmm, at least he sent it back though.

also, what model/storage is his s9? i'm only getting offered $75 for mine (s9 64gb, every check passed).

        • +1

Yeah, he tried to do the right thing. They lowered the trade in value for the phones after the first promotion ended. Think his was the 256GB. They're currently offering $95 for it now.

          • @khaez: damn lol samsung really do be thinking tech is inflationary.

            • @xrailgun: Haha. Yeah. I got $90 for my Oppo Reno z. It's $50 now, and the prices during the first promo was like $1049 for the s21 256gb. So with all the promo codes stacked ($200+ $50 newsletter) we got the phone's for less than $300.

    • Purchased on 21/03 - never got charged yet.

    • Does that mean the new phone gets sent to you before you have to send back your trade in phone?

  • +3

trade in ends 29/4 might be worth waiting few days to see if they have a sale & reduce the handset prices

  • +2

What's the trade in for an S21? 😂

    • +2

      Not eligible

    • +2

      $0.69c

      • That is a funny/witty post. Hahaha

  • +4

Retail price of s21 ultra is ridiculous.

    • +1

agreed, especially considering it's the only "true" replacement to the base S20 (1440p screen).

  • Anyone able to confirm bonus $200 is still stackable, the support agent in my chat said it wouldn't be…

    • Just go and try it.

    • +2

      It stacked for me!

    • +8

you dont ask them if it's stackable or they will close the loophole again

      • LOl I didn't ask them, the agent literally said let me go check re the voucher and to let you know the voucher won't be stackable.

        • +2

lol all good, for some reason it works for the last week or so

      • +1

i reckon they "re-opened" the "loophole" on purpose

  • Anyone get through to a discount voucher?

    • No.

      • +1

Their chat system is stupid. Not sending my messages.

    • I managed to get in on the 3rd retry.

I just kept spamming it and it went through

  • Is it an upgrade from s20 to S21?

    • +1

Yes. The Exynos 2100 chip is way better than previous attempts.

  • What are they offering for a grey import S9+ ?

    • Download the trade up app and find out. Some Grey imports are ineligible. I got $95 for my Telstra branded S9, FWIW.

      • Yeah I did. $110. What a joke.
