As an ex employee of AVG (AU/NZ) I am not sure how legit this is. Will double check.
AVG used to be pretty good….. but last install I did (about 3 months ago now) was about as bloaty as they come. They've stuffed it somehow. MS have actually improved their game with Essentials, I'd definitely go with that instead.
Having no virus or firewall works for me. And its free, AND it uses no memory!

AVG used to be a good, free antivirus. Unfortunately the company has decided to bloat their software and charge for it, while Microsoft has really picked up its own act. You no longer need this kind of software, Microsoft does it for free.
AVG still do a free antivirus, it works fine for me.

I have installed Avira (free) on my laptop and that works fine too.
"microsoft essentials" seems to work fine for me , And it's free .
