  • How many pages are you expecting to print?

    • About 20 per day.

Any Brother laser, with toner from eBay

    • Agreed and the ink doesn't dry up, I have printer that I used to use for uni that I don't use regularly anymore but just printed from today and it's probably been over 5 years without a reload.

      • And if you're trying to really reduce your costs, you can often pick up a used Brother laser printer for $20-30 on Facebook Marketplace.

        • +1 to this - I picked mine up from Marketplace, in great condition and hardly used. Some people sell them unbelievably cheap.

Mine was one of these, set me back about $40 from memory.

Got an Epson ecotank refurb a couple of months ago, and it is pretty good.

    • These look good. Have you filled the tank yet? How does it work exactly, can I use a cheaper generic bottle of ink from ebay?
These would match the printing cost of laser surely? And without the toner, drums etc overheads.

      • Haven't made a dent in the ink levels yet.
I checked the prices, and even the branded ink is pretty cheap.
A cheap mono laser is very cheap to run too, if you can get generic toner.

  • I've been using inkstation as my generic ink toner supplier. Very cheap.

Also, get a mono laser printer, as the toner will really stretch across so many pages. I recently got a Brother Hl-L2305W and it works magic. Easy to set up on wifi too
