Any particular good ones to recommend? I like the handwash but not on sale

My wife likes the rosehip oil. Men's facewash/exfoliator is decent.

  • Never used this brand. How does this brand compare to thankyou brand?

    • I'd like to know too.

    • +3

It's OK for the price, nothing fantastic
Also it's 50% off every second week

      They are very similar.
      Both excellent quality, Australian-made, chemical-free, and vegan-friendly.

Sukin is an older company (IIRC) and is carbon-neutral. It is linked with environmental charities.
Thankyou distributes its profits through a charitable trust, and is linked with Planetshakers church.

      • What does chemical free even mean? There's plenty of chemicals on that ingredient list that I can see.

        • +6

I'm no expert, but Sukin have a long list of dodgy chemicals that they won't put in their products. I guess 'chemical-free' might be shorthand for 'avoiding dodgy additives'.

@zzymurgy: You mean they have a list of things that aren't in their products?
I hope there's a fairly massive list of those for every company.

I think what people are asking is if they actually work. A lot of these natural products are just marketing hypes and work no better than a basic soap, lotion and sun screen, which are all Aussie made.

      • -4

Nope, it contains chemicals and these are mostly made in China and Indonesia. Nothing wrong with that. No thing you can buy will be free of chemicals, as everything is made from chemicals of some sort.

  • minimum order quantity of 2. Which is fine I guess. Thanks OP

The Signature Botanical Body Wash is also $8.97 at Chemist Warehouse if you don't want to wait a few weeks for delivery

If itโ€™s same price at Woolworths, buy from there! Better for the economy ๐Ÿ‘

    • +1

EXACTLY! As soon as Amazon is established in Australia - no more price matching. Then we'll be the ones with egg on our face because physical stores will be shut = less competition.

and the environment. I reckon I could have built a mansion out of the amazon cardboard boxes since covid.

      • +2

        Recycle the boxes.

        • You think every box you put in the yellow bin actually gets recycled?

    • +7

Eh, it's about time woolies and Coles had some competition. It's not like by buying at Woolies you are supporting some local small business…

    • +2

I agree but walking at my Woolies right now and they have f$ck all in the shelves. So I'm just going to order from Amazon and get it tomorrow morning to my office. I don't mind supporting the economy but when you don't have the products I want, I'll simply go to the next best place that has it

    • For what its worth, i've never seen any sukin products at several Woolies i have visited over the last 12 months.. until today (half priced). I always thought only Coles sold there products…

      • Just check the chemist warehouse during lunch. They don't have what my partner and I use. Australian biz make it damn hard to support local. Amazon it is then

      • +1

We only got Sukin within the last month - WW employee

  • +2

Also half price Sukin at Big W and Chemist Warehouse. Without the 2 minimum order.

    What's Sukin?

    • -1

      Short for Suked in

Sukin is one of a number of product lines for this ASX listed company.

  • I bought the Sukin facial scrub for half price. It had a nice scent and didn't feel too artificial, but you're getting what you pay for. There were barely any beads to do any exfoliating.

  • Looks to be expired now, discounts are more like 30% - 40%.
