Any reason for Intel vs AMD as it superior based on your use case?

  • There only reason i wanna try AMD Radeon if it's any good as i have used geforce 2080 super

Intel's 11th Gen CPUs are not worth the money when compared to their 10th Gen offerings. Better bet would be a 10th Gen i7 and a Z-series motherboard for the option to overclock.

As for a video card, right now the best video card is the one in stock. If you find a 6800XT in stock within your budget, go for it. Not a huge amount of options with a global chip shortage.

  • I already have purchased everything except the GPU

At this point, it's hard to just choose one. You can pick up a 3060ti or 3070 in stock for under $1500, though there's no set timeline for them, they're up for a bit then gone again for x time. Otherwise just jump into a PLE queue on whatever one you like, evga 3070 has about a month from order to arrival based on some past reviews, cheaper but waiting longer.

    keep using the 2080 super?

apparently PLE have 4-6 week wait times for the 3070s. But I don't think there's too much of a difference (less than 10% and you get the benefit of raytracing) from the 2080S.

You should find a discord channel to jump on to to find in stock high end cards. Otherwise you will be waiting a very long time for prices to come down and availability to improve.

  • I have another cpu so i am using my 2080s with i7-9700k.

  • You should be able to get a 6800xt for $1400-$1500, however might have to wait a few months for it to be delivered.

    Intel i7-119700k $539.75

Just curious…. It's likely this is a typo rather than you being a time traveller talking about the 119th generation of Intel chips. Did you mean 11900k or 11700k?

As for video card, how long can you wait? Video cards are currently extremely expensive for what you're getting. If you have another video card that you can make do and pick one up when prices ease, that'll get you a better card for your budget. That being said, it's a common guess that it'll be 2022 before prices come back down to earth.

      Haha.. sorry my bad

      i7-11700k

      Thanks for correcting

      • I assume when you say editing, you mean video editing? If so, what software are you using?

  • I am using wondershare filmora pro

  • I would look at a 3070 most likely, I have been looking at 6800 and 6800xt myself but would be pairing with an Ryzen for team red. I feel that there is more value with the AMD card but lacking the Nvidia tensor cores or wtf other stuff. Don't wait for card pricing to ease, it is probably going to be a long time.
