256GB SSD links to Umart. Is that right?

  • Is any of these SSDs good for the Windows 10 OS? or should we wait for Crucial MX500?

    • Yes, all of them.

I've only ever had about 6 of these Silicon Power SSD's and out of those I had 2 die on me (not great!) they were all 128GB in size that I had..

I've also used around 12x various Crucial MX500 and mainly the Samsung 850's and 970's and have not had any of these fail…

Obviously not large numbers but having 2x SP drives fail really put me off them.. I also could not get them replaced under warranty as the process was difficult and just gave up and purchased the Samsungs and been happy since..

P.S. The remaining 4 SSD's are still working and been working great so I guess as long as they don't fail on you they are good… I was just disappointed in having 2 fail on me being my main issue with them..

i have one 256GB model A55, very light use and after some power cut off it's just dead

I just had a look more into my issue as reported above to correct some of the details after looking them up again…

I had issues with the following units also going dead:
          1x 120GB S55 SSD
          1x 240GB S55 SSD

I purchased a total of the following:
          4x 120GB S55 SSD (24% failure rate)
          2x 240GB S55 SSD (50% failure rate)

The other SSD drives are still in operation and a few years old now and have been fine but I still wonder when they will just 'stop' working with no notice as the 2 SSD's above did… I think these are very 'cheap' drives and you get what you pay for I guess…. Samsung has been SOLID and highly recommended (I only have about 2 Crucial so not a great sample set but no issues with those 2 I have either)
