  • I have a couple of the little amplifiers (bought from aliexpress) and i'm have been quite impressed for the cost and size.

I have one running with some small powered bookshelf speakers after the internal amp died with a 12V 3AMP powersupply and they can get to decent volumes without distorting.

    • I used a TPA3116 and made my own Bluetooth speaker out of some old stereo speakers. I now have a boombox-style Bluetooth speaker that will blow away almost any other for about 16 hours.

      • What do you power it with?

        • 18650's in mine :)

@MasterScythe: Yep, salvaged 18650s x4. I put a BMS on it. Actually, I used a separate Bluetooth module because the amp I got didn't have it built in.
I found 2x Sony 100W speakers on a footpath cleanup. Hacked the speakerbox to hold all speakers (4 cones in total), powered from an old laptop power supply.

  • Does the Class D version have noticeably better sound quality?

    • +1

I think they're all Class D, the difference is in features (e.g. memory card support)

    • My understanding is that D Class is most efficient in converting the electrical power to sonic power… Works similar with the pulse width modulation for motor drivers.

  • I am surprised there don't seem to be many of these modules around that are dual channel, plus third channel for sub woofer.

Is this rated at 50w RMS or 50w peak power?

    • Please let me know when you find out

      • 50w RMS

    • 50w RMS

  • Other than price, is there any reason to get an IC like this rather than something like a Douk Audio/Nobsound NS-10G or something?
