Anko Google Home Mini Stand $1 (Was $6.00) in-Store /+ $3 C&C /+ $10 Delivery @ Kmart

810

Google Home Mini Stand at Kmart is down to $1 dollar. Very well reviewed and cheaper by one dollar compared to the last deal posted for it. It is on clearance so I don't know about stock levels. I didn't have a problem adding to cart for online purchase though (I didn't go through to payment, though. Just checking.).

Shipping is $10 and C&C is $3 for any purchase under $20. Purchases over $20 get free C&C if you so choose.

Probably best to go into store and get one in person to avoid the fees.

I don't think this deal's a dupe of this one since this deal is one dollar cheaper (and the old one is expired) but feel free to take down this post if it is.

    Why would anybody want this?

Perfect for your altar to Google.

      • +8

My Google Home Minis sit and work fine on the altar without a stand…

        • +9

Well, does it sit or stand?

          • +15

@pichxlonco: I'll ask it when I get home.

    • +4

They lift point the home mini so the speaker is directed at you rather than towards the ceiling. Also easier to see the lights and control them from certain positions.

      • +1

I know Home Mini is far from Hi-Fi audio quality, but let it sit on table sounds a bit more bassy, making it sound slightly better.

    • Clarity of sound and mic (we find they pickup our commands better) and visibility of the leds.

      • +1

Have have you done side by side testing to compare?

        • Im not sure what you mean? I didnt get a db meter or anything. for the sound quality.

It appears to be better to my ears and it definetely is more visible and it definitely is better with hearing spoken commands (i had issues before none after)

I also think they look nicer.

Its not that huge lifechanging thing, but well worth the pittance they are charging here.

    • do you ever have anything positive to say on here….

do a search if you want to know…

        • eighty thousand comments…. hmm

          • @Dannyism: This deal post is getting a bit long for what it is….

  • +4

I got a couple of these when they were $2 or $3 and heaps of stock was around. I can confirm that they work well with the newer generation nest mini too

  • -7

Unlike 3d printed once, these have to be screwed to wall. Pointless for gen 2 since they have builtin hook point

    • +3

No they don't. They are tabletop stands…

  • +13

These buttplugs are starting to look mean

    • +5

You know what they say… nothing ventured - nothing gained.

    • My google home mini stands with it.

But can you stand with it?

  • +4

I use these on my minis. Why? Principally so I can see the bloody lights (ie that the device has responded to my "hey Google command") when I'm not directly standing over it.

That is one advantage of the Amazon Dot, the ring light can easily be seen from a distance .

The stand also helps to direct the sound forward rather than up.

    • +2

Good point. at 1$ is not worth 3D printing.

      • Yep, I printed mine but they were more expensive back then

    • +4

Accessibility > audio > enable start sound

  • +6

Don't forget you can reverse the volume up/ down touch buttons from the Google home app.

The stand essentially turns the Mini upside down.

    • -4

Huh? It just gives it a vertical stand. Upside down would have the speaker pointing down…

      • +3

The default orientation is the power port facing away from you, flat on a table.

Putting it on a stand would mean rotating it 180, then tilting it upwards, resulting in the buttons being reversed.

I use it hold my crystal ball when I am telling the future.

    • +3

Do you need to say "Hey Crystal" before you ask your future?

  • +3

Good for playing music. It allows the device to project sound forward instead of up.

  • +1

When you have a reminder you cannot see the lights on the Google mini, with this facing up you can see the lights for notifications, I have one above the fridge and one under the tv on the table

  • don't waste your $1 (which Idid) unless you really need it..

  • Saw plenty of these at Kmart Burwood VIC

  • +2

Just as a point of comparison, this same item costs $14 on Amazon.
