Seems this offer is back for Apple Pay also. Only applies to items bought in store. Targeted also.

EDIT: Seems the T&Cs say in store and online. However, in the Afterpay app in the cards section (provided this offer has been targeted to you), it specifically mentions “Enjoy $20 OFF your next in-store $21+ order”

      I mean I guess if it’s been targeted to you on your iPhone then possibly? Pretty sure they’d have some sort of ‘double dipping’ system in place though.

        i did got this promo from both my android and iphone. however, after complete the android promo. i am looking at my iphone, the banner is gone. guess i won't take the risk.

    Never works for me. Set it up in Apple Pay etc. Tried to shop at places which accept after pay in store.

    What am I missing?

        Like Slappie said, gotta go to the Afterpay app first, then cards and then tap pay with Afterpay Card. Also gotta look out for whether the store you go to accepts Afterpay and if so, the minimum spend they allow for Afterpay (i.e.: Big W's Afterpay minimum is $50, other big retailers are typically $100).

            @ce5himm: however DJ staff member serving me told me there was a $100 minimum for afterpay i just said ok and tap and paid $21 with afterpay card. but i never got the $20 discount as i wasn't targeted. i fired off an email to afterpay to see if they can credit my account a couple of days ago and still havent heard back.

              @coolsteps: You should get it straight away if you are targeted. I brought $21 giftcard, showed $1 in my afterpay app. Paid 0.25, 0.75 to go. Lol

            @Slappie: Yeah there is but it's dependent on what the retailer sets their Afterpay minimum at. Like ce5himm said, David Jones' minimum appears to be just low enough so you only have to spend $21 or more. BIG Ws is $50. Others look to be around $100.

            EDIT: A good guide to see whether or not what you want to buy is enough for this deal would be to add it to your cart online and see if Afterpay appears as an option. If it does then chances are you will be able to go down and pay for it in-store using Afterpay Card to get the $20 off.

      I added the Afterpay Card immediately to wallet as soon as it became available, but I didn't receive the offer. So I ended up removing it and adding it again, still no offer. And somehow I received an e-mail that morning to remind me to use the offer, so I checked the app and the offer was there.

        Ah, not OP but thanks for that. I haven't used it personally, but I didn't know the AfterPay card was limited to stores who accept Afterpay.

        Apart from taking advantage of promos such as these, this seems to make AfterPay's card a bit less useful to use compared to say Zip's virtual card which can pretty much be used anywhere that accepts credit card payments.

          Also different stores have different minimum spending amount, plus you have to open their app first, not the Apple pay/Google pay straight away. Basically, it's useless unless they are doing promo like this.

    I literally just got this to work in store at JB hi-fi at Macquarie Shopping Centre. Have to go via the Afterpay app before paying with Apple Pay. Got an Apple air tag for $25 :-)

    Tried from 2 stores accepting Afterpay.
    Rejected showing retailer didn’t accept Afterpay Card.
    No one from both knew how to get it worked.

      some shops only accept afterpay (barcode) not afterpay card via apple/google pay.

        Tried 3 different stores with no luck. When scanning the barcode, it showed ‘Not enough funds’. So confusing.
        I’ve never had a problem with online purchasing, just can’t get the Afterpay Card work. Might be my setting issues?

        Open Afterpay app —-> card —-> activate Afterpay Card —-> Face ID check for the debit card linking to my Apple Pay —-> pay with Afterpay Card —-> Face ID check again —-> rejected.
        Am I missing something?

          It could be the shop. Some have different minimums. Some don't take Afterpay Card yet. I used it yesterday at JB-HiFi for a $25 purchase. No issues. Go the $20 off and only have to pay $5. The receipt with JB shows $25 and no discount, but then go into the Afterpay app after and it shows the discount. Do note that you have to be targeted for this deal. If you're not, you won't get the discount.
