Replacement Plan for Telechoice $40/Mnth with $2000 Included Value for Calls (Including International Calls)

Got a family member on this plan back in 2015 and it's been awesome value, even with their $6/min intl call rates, but telechoice is finally winding it down.

They used it to call landlines and mobiles in countries not usually included in all the "free international calls to xx countries"
Some people are now reachable with internet calling apps but there are still old people who don't know what whatsapp/skype/viber is and don't use or know how to use internet on their phones, so looking for a way to reach them with regular international voice calls.

I haven't been able to find anything with similar value these days.
Best telechoice has to offer now is a intl call pack for $5/month that gives you $10 to spend or $15/month with $30 to spend which is nowhere near the current value proposition.

Does anybody know of something similar??

You could use Felix which would still be $40 a month and get you unlimited calls and texts to 40 selected countries.

    • Thanks for the suggestion, still not in the 40 countries though.

  • I think it might help to know the countries you are trying to reach.

    • Serbia and Bosnia mainly.
They are never included in the international packs.

Depending on the countries Coles Mobile is good, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/617865.

We use mobiles to ring UK and US, and have UK and US landline numbers to make it cheap for people to ring us.

Have you looked at Skype out? The person making the call pays a subscription fee based on the country of the recipient. The recipient does not need internet nor do they need any apps to receive calls from the person paying the subscription. When the paying person calls the recipient, the recipient will receive a call from a random landline number.

Been working well for us. Myself and 2 of my siblings share one paying plan. Skype to go numbers have been set up so that all three of us can call mum and dad without needing the other's phone and without having to pay 3 subscriptions.

    • I didn't know about that.

I've been playing with voip calling and setting up local area numbers back in the day but since getting this plan, stopped using everything else.
So I'm very behind with what is available these days.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out.

  • Which country you need to call?

    • Serbia and Bosnia mainly.
They are never included in the international packs.
