Thanks, I keep forgetting this is a thing for prime members and for some reason Amazon never send out newsletters for these.

    • Hmm, I get the emails on the 2nd of every month (so I haven't received the email for this month yet).

    • Same. I constantly receive emails for all kinds of things related to Prime, but never this.

It's opt-in, and you can subscribe to the emails here: https://www.amazon.com.au/kindle-dbs/emailsubs/

Like @brotherfranciz mentioned, they don't send them out on the first of the month but that's when the books change over.

  • Picked Girls in the Attic this month

For people looking for free new books there is a site called net galley where you can get books for free if you write a review somewhere. I've got quite a few books from them. They have a fair range of new books that you can request.

I have noticed every months list is pretty much 90-100% female authors and about females / female protagonists. After a while it starts to get a bit worrying why there arent many male authors or protagonists on this monthly list.

Is there a downside moving your kindle from Amazon.com to Amazon.com.au?

You dont get the US amazon kindle deals on books. I preferred the US amazon but i did finally take the plunge and move to aussie because majority of times the aussie deals are the ones that get listed on here like this one.

    • There is no family sharing on AU

  • I just checked my amazon prime account and turns out I have been paying a Kindle subscription since June 2020 for AUD 13.99/month.

I used to add free-to-read books and it seems if you don't return them after their free period finish, it means they will start charging the kindle subscription to your credit card.

It has cost me $140 Aud so far for keeping the books that I never actually read them.

Or is it just me? has anyone experiencing the same thing?

    • That sounds like a Kindle Unlimited subscription which is separate to all of the Prime benefits.

  • I will ask Amazon what is going on cos I never signed up for a kindle unlimited subscription unless I did it by mistake.

For now, I have cancelled it and I received this message: You’ll continue to have access to Kindle Unlimited until XX June 2021. After that, your books will be returned. You can restart your membership anytime.

Those are free books that I added earlier and never returned, thinking they are free for me to keep digitally.
