  • Good price but no HDMI 2.1 so 4K is only 60hz. In 2021 this should be deal breaker to most, especially if you game.

Is there a similar priced 75" with similar quality that has properly functioning hdmi 2.1? The Sony x9000h technically has it but it basically doesn't work

      • X900h has some VRR functions for ps5 it's inbuilt to their chipset. 4k @120 works fine it's only a few people who have complained about blurry motion during pc games. Most have no issues

        • Seems to be more than a few people from what I read, a lot of complaints about the current state not working and just hoping a future update might fix, example - https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/3p88r6l3

@Tr0jan: Friends got the TV he has no issues with PC or PS5. It's basically just like the CX, some have it some not but majority are fine. People go on forums to complain about problems. Thousands are using it and are good

      Only if you game*

      • You are right, I should have worded it better. So if you don't game, great deal +1

What's the cheapest TV with HDMI 2.1?

  • Was looking at the Q8 85" then decided on the Sony x900 75" but now at this price I'm not sure all over again.

    • If you don't next gen game and arnt fussed about android TV get the Q8 85. No regrets

      • Yeah don't need all that. Went in the shop and was impressed with the Q8 but the Sony next to it was amazing. Then read about panel lottery with the Q8 and how well the Sony performs with normal TV viewing… and well that all threw spokes in the wheels.

        • Take your own video file to truly compare. Also both have panel lottery and I think hisense sorted out the issues with their panels in the last batch plus there's a improvement with its new update which the in store ones don't have for thr Q8

          • @DoesntEvenMatter: Unfortunately I've been researching more and seems that Sony model has a bunch of issues too. Guess it is the Q8 then.

I've had a tab open on this tv for over 2 weeks now and refresh it daily. The price has changed at least 10 times, going as low as $2150 and up to $2485.

Few days ago it changed twice within 4hrs. It's a good deal with free delivery (in my case) but not enough for me to jump on it right now.

  • Sorry I'm confused - Is there a a difference between the 75Q8 75" 4K ULED and the 75Q8 75" 4K UHD

GG Commercial has the UHD model (appears to be the same posted) at $1495.00

    • +1

Had me excited there lol. Q8 for that price would be a steal. It's actually the S8 that's listed there for that price.

  • I was getting confused as there's inconsistencies in the two ads between the title and the model numbers (75S8 & 75Q8)
AO lists the model as the 75Q8 but describes it as the UHD rather than the ULED - thats what was confusing me

    • Q8 is FALD. S8 is entry level.

  • I'm afraid it is too wide for my cavity.

      That's what she said

  • Why isn't this getting more upvotes? Average TV? Average store? Average price?

    • I surprised too, may be because of the price fluctuation as some one mentioned above is the reason.

      • It's been at $2275 since I saw and posted about it. Anyway I thought it was a good deal so I pulled the trigger and it's arriving tomorrow

congratulation on your new TV.. enjoy and let us know.

@The king: It's arrived, been mounted and tested… and wow, I am blown away with it

Still need to do some tweaking, but with Enhanced HDMI enabled I've got Dolby Vision working at 4K 60Hz with my CCGTV and it is magnificent

Upgraded Netflix to a 4K plan and the Our Planet doco is just unbelievable. The contrast between the properly black blacks and the vibrant colours is stunning

Also tested an AFL stream, both 1080P and 4K and really happy with how it's handling the motion

So yes, very happy with the purchase :)

@Tr0jan: Its good to know that you made a right choice in end. thanks for letting me know your experience and i was bit worried when I read reviews one got mixed feeling about Q8 series.

              • +1

@The king: No worries, happy to answer any specific questions you have, noting that I'm not really going to get much time to play with it for the next couple of weeks
