Seems to be a very good price for a fairly decent drive.
Hope it helps someone!

Kingston’s A400 solid-state drive dramatically improves the responsiveness of your existing system with incredible boot, loading and transfer times compared to mechanical hard drives. Powered by a latest gen controller for read and write speeds up to 500MB/s and 450MB/s¹, this SSD is 10x faster than a traditional hard drive¹ for higher performance, ultra-responsive multi-tasking and an overall faster system.

10x? so normal hard drive is 45MB/s?

    it's not ten times

    thanks for post

    • yep, sounds like a marketing BS, the whole description. I think 99.9% people here who want to buy an SSD know as much :(

  • Will this fit in a late-2011 13in MBP?

Horses for courses I suppose, but the Crucial MX500 500GB is only an extra $6.50 at the moment..

Is the samsung cashback still on? I think I paid $71 for the 860 evo

Not really, the MX500 is a significantly better device since it has DRAM cache.

      So good advice.

Note that 1TB rather than 500GB is significantly better price/GB in most cases.

  • Can I run a RPi 4 on this?

    • You will need a USB enclosure/adapter to attach it to the USB port .

  • Could I connect this to my CX Oled with an appropriate usb enclosure?

I'm guessing these aren't useful for the miners?

I wouldn't touch one of these even if I was paid to do so. Dramless and has a well documented history online of committing the big death out of no where with no warning well within warranty. Good dram equipped ssd's from Crucial, WD and Seagate for example are only another $5-15 more and well worth the small increase in price.

    • I've installed the 120GB Kingston A400 in some old laptops to breathe some new life in them. Had them 3+ years without any issues.
I agree though, with much better quality SSDs available for just a bit more, this is not a good deal.

  • Will this work in an Acer Aspire 5761 all in one pc from 2011?

    • That PC has SATA ports for the hard drive and optical drive. This SSD will work on either of those.

      • Thanks.
        Yes, it has SATA drives.
