Gleam Competition Issues

Hi

Just wondering if anyone has experience of any negative issues with Gleam competitions. I have avoided entering them so far. It's just that their prizes are so great!!

Thanks in advance,

Gleam is just a platform that others use to host their competitions. I'm still convinced the majority are fake though.

    • That is what I was concerned about. Thanks for your reply. Cheers.

  • I’ve entered a few using an email reserved for competitions. If a comp requires a phone number I don’t enter it.
I’ve never won anything, but aside from emails from the competition creator I don’t receive much in the way of spam.

I only entered those where in terms of conditions has the NSW competition number, when it it will drawn, how the winners would be determined etc. Having said that I still receive a lot of scam calls in the weeks following when i entered a comp.

Never entered gleam comp as it usually would requires us to do so many things through many of our personal social med account and email. This means, if someone has bad intention and #sherlock mindset, it would be easier to piece everything together and learn more about our personal info.

    • Awesome. Thank you so much for your reply. This reinforces my caution around Gleam. Cheers

  • I used to enter competitions daily for a few months. Gleam was my most hated.

You sign up/like/favorite/retweet every single item and get all the points required and then hear nothing. I've never heard of anyone winning something via Gleam.
Eventually I just gave up completely and skipped Gleam competitions as my social media was becoming dominated by the crap I had liked via it for no reason.

Another thing I hate about it is how some people have their points setup. A competition may aware 1 entry for doing a task. But another competition will award 999 entries, but at the end of the day your odds are still the same.

  • Refuse to use gleam
When I found out they sell all the data (like everything) to marketing companies. They are literally the reason you can expect to be spammed constantly.

  • Thanks everybody. Off to buy a bargepole…
