I can't really say this is a good deal. Because I got Acer LM for same price. This phone has 3.2" display with 320 x 480 resolution.

    • +3

Except that the Acer Liquid MT has been out of stock for ages now…

      • That does not make this phone any better for the price.

        • +5

No it doesn't, but at least compare apples with apples.

        • compare apples with apples.

          like a 2g to a 4g?

that wouldn't be an accurate comparison.

  • -1

You don't get the point, do you? I thought I am comparing a $xxx phone to a $xxx phone. Apples with apples. If you don't get this I won't argue with you anymore

    • +8

i think that logic only works if both phones are available at the same time.

    • +1

I guess nobody should buy a tablet then unless it's priced at $99?

      • +2

        I'm confused!

        • Woops, sorta confused myself there!

What I meant was that you shouldn't compare products that ARE available with products that currently ARE NOT. If we did, nobody would buy a tablet until something comes along like the HP touchpad bargain again

        • @johnn..I'm waiting for another company to do a firesale like the touchpad so people do think like that.

Playbook is a very good candidate ATM

Buying and judging the deal are 2 different things. I never said someone should not buy this one. It is about judging the deal is whether good or not. If someone happy with this price and phone go ahead and buy it /haha, be very happy with it/. My point is when there was something better for the price that sets benchmark for the rest of the product in the market, specially for mobile handsets, TVs etc electronic products, which gets cheaper and phased out as time goes and new products released.

    • So what's "better for the price that sets benchmark for the rest of the product in the market"?

      Can you post a link?

Opinions are like a##holes everyone has one. But what's sets your opinion apart from the rest is when you have facts to back it up.

    • We get your point, it is just flawed logic.

If it's good for whats out there now - It's good.

  • -4

I don't have the link for saying what's "better for the price that sets benchmark for the rest of the product in the market". This is my opinion. The facts that back this opinion up are evident everywhere in this Ozbargain website.

    • There are no posts that you can use in the ozbargain website as facts as there are no active deals that are comparable with this deal. Alot of factors causes prices to decrease or increase but the way you should determine if a deal is a bargain if it cheapest deal at the time of the post.

I used to buy a bread loaf for 50 cents 10 years ago but that doesn't stop me buying bread now.
Furthermore look at the previous banana posts which proves that a bargain is determined at the current market price. Ozbargainers were overjoyed when they say bananas for $4 a kilo even though they were 99 cents a kilo years ago.

I clearly mentioned in my previous post that my opinion is specially for the electronic products. So please compare apples with apples. No banana and apple.

    • So do you at least agree that a deal is a bargain when it is the best price in the current market?

      It's a yes/no question?

That's the only point im trying to make.

      • +1

@orange123…forget it dude. Scrimshaw's gravatar explains it perfectly ;)

  • -2

Yes. but that does not mean this is the best price for the phone with such specification. Do you agree with that?

    • +3

I give up. I feel sorry to whoever may encounter you in life.

  • -4

No worries mate, you just did.

  • who needs this type of fancy phone when you own a NOKIA 5110!! hahaha

  • Price point is very keen, though internal memory '0.15GB' is going to have a choking hard time holding anything sufficient. also agree, 480 lines-horizontal should occupy minimum spec this year, not 320. Such ingredients are elementary to photos—video—youtube; experienced users.

Deficiencies aside, it's a thankful gesture Telstra has made it unlocked for use on slower networks .. even nicer to acknowledge my Acer metal technology depreciation has been next to zip ie four months on from when it reigned supreme in smartphone bargainville.

  • Doesn't matter what price it is if it's going to drive you nuts and end up thrown in the back of the drawer.

Stepdaughter bought one from Telstra a little over a month ago and is having problems with it freezing, and randomly restarting several times a day. It's also fairly slow to respond.

    • Have you tried custom Roms and such? I'm sure there are some CM7 roms for it that will improve it's stability,

    • If flashing custom ROMs is a bit daunting, try another launcher - from what I've read the default LG launcher does lag a bit but popular launchers like Go Launcher EX run pretty well.

      • Go Launcher EX is a bit laggier than LauncherPro. Then again, Go Launcher EX has tons more features and the interface just looks snazzier in general, but the code isn't as optimised as LP.

  • I am looking for a phone for my Wife, but this is more headache then it's worth.
