Lodge branded lump of metal. I know how much OzBargain likes Lodge branded lumps of metal more than similar lumps of metal and this appears to be a good price.

Has grill ridges so you can finally use your Lodge branded grill scrapers that you may well have already bought from another Lodge deal.

Also has helper handle but OzBargain is characteristically stingy on characters in title considering all the required fluff.

Model name: 10.5 Inch Square Cast Iron Grill Pan
Model number: L8SGP3
Brand: Lodge
Material: Cast Iron
Item dimensions L x W x H: 43.8 x 26.7 x 6.7 centimetres
Item weight: 2.95 kg

Previous OzBargain deal: $30.01 on 14/7/2019

Amazon lowest price on CamelCamelCamel: $25.82 on 25/6/2018

To qualify for $0 delivery you must have Amazon Prime and spend at least $49 on Prime International items on the Amazon AU store.

Be careful when purchasing as the "Grill Pan with Hot Handle Holder" item variant is very expensive and not a deal and is cheaper bought separately.

  • showing $62.50?

    • I can see that is the Amazon AU seller price, not sure why you are seeing that instead though - I am sure someone else knows.

They just have to click the "New (8) from $28.44" that comes under the description to select the other pricing.

    • you must login to amazon.com.au

    great for a zombie apocalypse!

    • +2

Zombie apocalypse is all those using toxic non-stick cookware.

This is a good deal for a great product, I have other lodge pans.

I missed the previous Lodge sales for the square griddle and got the IKEA one instead with the $10 family discount ($49 - $10).

I love using this pan for steaks.

    • +1

      how's the ikea one?

      • Very good, easy to clean provided it remains seasoned.

I love a good dose of whinging. I use it to lubricate my justice boner and fuel my keyboard warrior attitude so I can tell others how to live their lives.

      • +7

Didn't seem like whinging to me

      • +6

dude calm down - i was obviously riffing off OP's fun item description.

        • +2

OzBargain can be so weird sometimes.

    • +3

You could use it to sear veges too. Steak is delicious. Pan fried eggplant is delicious too!

i, for one, upvoted your comment
i particularly liked "the wet hole in my top part"

      • i was particularly proud of that bit, so thank you! :'''')

Thanks OP, I really wanted this one - cheeers!!!!!!

Great for an ozbargain BBQ, with people turning up on their Teslas, rocking their powerbeats earphones..

  • +4

It's a very good grill pan but such a headache to clean, even with grill scrapers. Also don't use with marinated or acidic foods. Acid strips your seasoning and iron into your meal…

    • +4

Iron in your meal is good, especially for vegetarians. Actually, I'm being serious, uncoated iron cookware is a source of dietary iron. Too much tastes metallic though.

    Thanks got 2!

10.5inch is 26.67cm in non-retard unit system, fyi

FYI, I'm not sure if many are aware of this "workaround", but for those who want to avoid paying shipping for Amazon US items under $49:

    1) just order another item, shipping from Amazon US, to take your order total above the $49 Prime free shipping requirement,

    2) then, a few minutes after you complete and pay for the order, go into the order via Amazon account>Orders and cancel the second item.

    • +1

      Thanks, I didn’t know that

    • +1

      brilliant

    • +1

      I'm going to try this

    • +1

      seemed to work for me

    • has there been any issues doing this?

      • As far as I know, this method has been working for a while now (as can be seen in user BradH13's comment in this discussion thread: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/572231)

I've personally ordered a few items this way, and have had no issues.

        • +1

I ordered this way and just got confirmation they posted it

  • Bought one and chucked in a tempered glass cover for the 10.25 inch pan I bought on the last deal to get free international shipping

    • See above comment, there's a loophole where you can just cancel the second item. I figure you may have wanted the cover anyway though.

      • Yeah I’ve actually ended up cancelling the cover and it looks like it worked cheers
I’ll get the cover somewhere else maybe il try the universal one which looks more versatile and it’s cheaper

  • time to reenact some of my best Mordhau fights

although I need a more rounded model. this will also do fine though

  • Shows $62.50?

  • As is the way, Amazon has put the price back up.

    • yes :(

  • This has been the usual price for some time - I know since I ordered this exact model about a month ago and received a week ago.

Great pan, but season well and often to maximise the non-stick qualities and grab a set of the grill scrapers such as www.amazon.com.au/Cast-Iron-Cleaners-Handle-Covers/dp/B07PG4…

Given the concerns with teflon and high temps - and the usual wont to turn up the heat on steak (or eggplant/lentils) - a cast iron grill pan is a great investment, and the rounded square pans like this provide an extra 20% real estate and a diagonal of circa 29cms for those longer rump steaks.

    • +2

This has been the usual price for some time

Oh well, not anymore - OzBargain effect!

  • So much heavy handed over-moderating just because a few OzBargainers want to go halves in an overseas purchase to save on shipping.

    Someone needs a hobby…

    • +1

      Agree.. Over moderating unnecessarily

I wasn't even selling.. My comment was I'm thinking of going halves.. See.. It's just a bloody thought.. It's not affirmation of "going to sell"

  • Bought 2, 50/50 with a friend, cheers!
