Kogan 65 Inch 4K TV (Series 9, XU9210) Vs Kogan 65 Inch 4K TV (Series 9, XU9250)

There are two Kogan 65 inch 4K UHD TVs for the same price with slightly different model numbers

Can someone tell me if there is any difference between them?

I have looked at the specs and see that XU9250 model is 5 star energy rating vs 4.5 star for the 9210

Am I missing anything that makes it worth choosing one over the other besides energy rating?

    One's a turd
    One's a steaming turd.

IMHO don't buy a TV without seeing it in person.
No amount of whiz bang marketing would get me to buy a Kogan TV.

The reviews speak for themselves (wouldn't trust the one's on the Kogan website - they're biased as feck)

    • Cheap though

They're cheap for a reason unfortunately.
2.1 out of 5 doesn't fill me with confidence

Get a TCL or Hisense, far better support and value for money.

After a few months when you've forgotten how cheap it was, you'll regret you didn't spend more.

Pay a few hundred more for a Hisense (3 year warranty).

  • Save your money

  • Save a bit more and get a Hisense or a TCL. If you find even those to be expensive get a budget home brand form BigW, JB or even form Aldi. Against all the sensible advice above and below if you were brave enough to buy rebadged junk sold as Kogan then you will be on your own if that stops working as the words "customer support" and "Kogan" never goes hand in hand.

    One is a Kogan
    The other is a Kogan

So Basically both rubbish and if anything goes wrong…. landfill when you give up trying to get it fixed

    The difference is 40.

I bought the UX9250 in August to wall mount in a kids playroom for Xbox etc. It's perfectly fine and does everything I expected. Note that it only has 2.4Ghz wifi which could be an issue for some people, but I plugged a Chromecast Ultra in and don't use any of the TV's built-in "smart" features.

    • Did you use Chromecast over "smart" features because "smart" features on low end TV's are just not worth it ?

I ask cause I currently have a dumb TV 55" … and wanting to get a 75" but they don't make dumb TV's this is / anymore and I don't particularly want to spend thousands just to watch Disney cartoons (5 & 6 yo mainly watching it).

So the thinking is just get a good screen for its size and then chromecast the smarts ?

      • I have a 50 inch xu9210 and the android tv on it is fine. Occasionally glitches out and I gotta unplug the power to reboot it but mostly it's responsive enough. I'd say probably a hair slower than the Chromecast android tv dongle.

  • My Kogan TVs have been excellent, still good after all these years. Looking forward to these new HDR ones to get images with better colour.
