I can absolutely attest that the referral system is a scam because if one account is flagged with an issue, all the connected ones are also flagged. I referred two people from the link in my account after the upsized $40 for the referral and $10 for the receiver. They tried to purchase muliple giftcards through the app because of the click frenzy sale that's happening now. First one went through fine. Second time payment errors and customer service asked to try another card. They kept trying and assumed it was a system glitch. After trying to login the next day to try again, they realised they couldn't. Then they got an email they their accounts are suspended for "fraudulent activity". I did not get such an an email but I cannot log in either. They contacted customer service and was told my account and their accounts are permentantly suspended with no explanation why, and no investigation will be launched. Obviously pending cashbacks are gone. I also tried contacting customer service and was told they would get back to me with an explanation after an escalation, but i think they're just fobbing me off. The lesson is to not fall for their higher cashback rates (compared to Cash rewards). No recourse if anything goes wrong.
