Trying to meet minimum spend for sign up bonus with new ANZ credit card. Can anyone confirm that paying off your Zip Pay account (with the 'make additional payment' option) counts as a regular purchase (and not a cash advance) that also gives you a few points?
One of the worst things about credit cards is that banks are incredibly vague about what constitutes a cash advance, yet getting this wrong can result in severe financial penalties.
I have used Westpac Black, Bankwest Zero Plantinum and 28 degree to pay off ZipPay but it was treated as a purchase on all three cards. Don't give the banks new ideas. Just saying :)
does it accrue points too?
It didn't get charged as a cash advance for me, but whether it count towards bonus spend is another thing.
