    I would buy this if I could afford the 5 K's worth of Hi Fi equipment that you need to hear the benefit.

      If you are genuinely keen on getting something that sounds good and won't cost the earth, look at 2nd hand market. I was hell bent on getting a good setup and slowly put together a modern system comprising of Pro-ject turntable, Cambridge amp and Polk speakers for $1k. Also picked up some 2nd hand Beyerdynamic headphones that sound great through the Cambridge amp.

      I was looking at a vintage setup originally and read a few arguments suggesting that vintage is expensive and often has it's issues/repairs after years of use.

      Food for thought.

        If you are genuinely keen on getting something that sounds good .. shave of your hipster beard and buy a CD or download from iTunes. $1k of audio equipment can't make up for the fact that the audio quality of vinyl is terrible. That's why we were happy in the 80s to upgrade to something better.
