Big W are having a clearance on this expansion set for the Super Mario line.

Whomp is a pretty cool character and works well for the interactive parts of LEGO Super Mario.

Seems to be a reasonable amount of stock in store if you want to avoid the delivery charges.

            Prices will likely drop further, but stock are running low now.

  I am pretty sure that Nintendo as usual like Disney and a lot of other popular IP's dictated the pricing a lot. So now heaps of the first wave of sets are clearing off and they're still having issues clearing it off, the boxes are big and they're largely only filled 60% or less lol, and once you ignore all the box art you realise you're paying for literally a small amount of pieces.

    I usually avoid the licenced sets because of the extra cost per piece. However, at least the Super Mario ones have unique pieces/characters and the interactive element.

    I don't think they really mind? They're still supporting it and releasing new products, Luigi isn't coming till August and they'll probably be doing series 3.

    Maybe it didn't reach the success levels they envisioned, I think they chilled out a bit on the series 2 production. But certainly it seems to be popular enough.
