Finally, a Facebook offer that does not require you to join Facebook and give up your personal details.

so the printing out & presenting in-store is a good trade off for you?

      • For me it is better than an exchange of polymer notes with goods, and vastly superior to an exchange of my privacy with goods.

Since you started the question, what is your view on this?

        • Well i guess we are all different. I gave up caring about my first/last name & address as being sensitive information long ago. To think that information can be hidden is ridiculous and besides these companies are not out to get you, they just want to spam you every now and then. So with "no junk mail" on my letter box & a spam filter at gmail & on thunderbird i'm happy not needing to worry about the boogie man. For me printing out a document and driving to a retail store to get a 15ml sample bottle is ridiculous in the extreme… but that's just me ;)

        • It is plainly stupid to spend the time, the effort, and the petrol to make a special trip just for a 15ml sample. However, if you are buying the weekly groceries and the Clinique counter is just 5 minutes walk away in the same shopping centre, then where's the harm in printing a piece of paper and burning some calories?

I do not use Facebook on principle and I will never sign up only just to get a freebie. It is to me the virtual equivalent of driving to a retail store and writing down your personal details for the 15ml sample. And it is for this reason why I made my first comment.

And you will violate your agreement with Facebook. Section 4 of Statement of Rights and Responsibilities explicitly states:

Here are some commitments you make to us relating to registering and maintaining the security of your account:

        1. You will not provide any false personal information on Facebook, or create an account for anyone other than yourself without permission.
        2. You will not create more than one personal profile.
        3. If we disable your account, you will not create another one without our permission.

        7. You will keep your contact information accurate and up-to-date.

        9. You will not transfer your account (including any page or application you administer) to anyone without first getting our written permission.

Therefore you have to provide your real details to join Facebook. Just because Facebook decides not enforcing Section 4 at this time does not make your statement correct.

        • Im sure they're happy that their number of joining members is still growing.

    Thanks…
I didn't give out any details on FB or otherwise, as the voucher says your 'friend' can get one too. So Mum and I got the last two in store today when we were in Myer anyway for something else. Assistant was more than happy to clock us up as someone's 'friend', and the samples are a good sized 30mL each times three, perfect for travelling or in your bag. We look forward to trying them out.
Ahhh knockers…. free is free. Have some fun :)

    • how did you manage to get 30ml samples? As we've got 15ml ones and the voucher says 15ml. Maybe we should try Myer next time ;)
